Is it normal if I feel like I don't want the father to hold my child?

I've been having this feeling for the last couple of months. And then all of a sudden he shows up on Saturday and the feeling has grown. I get induced tonight and I already told him I didnt want him there. That he could be there on Tuesday. Is it normal for me to feel greedy of my child towards certain people?

Yes, yes, yes! It always made me nervous to have my daughter's father hold her when she was first born. She 1 1/2 now and it still makes me nervous to leave them alone for more than a few minutes. I felt greedy about everyone except my parent's holding my daughter at first. It will fade with time (with some people), but if it doesn't...don't feel bad...those are your instincts and you HAVE to trust them. "Mommy instincts" are what protect our children...listen to them!

Yes - especially if the father is unreliable. It is normal to want to protect your child from being hurt! Trust your gut. Supervise him if you feel it is necessary. Good luck and God Bless!
