I pierced my daughter's ears when she was 6 months old, and she never pulled at them or anything. She stopped crying as soon as I destracted her! Good luck :)

My sisters and I were born in a latin American country where it's common place to pierce an infant's ears before they leave the hospital. The hospital staff did the piercings. We've never had any problems with our piercings. So it's really your call. I'm planning on piercing my daughter's ears BEFORE she starts grasping at things and pulling on her ears and other body parts.

I would recommend waiting until your daughter gets her tetanus shot, that is what I did. Shelby was just over 4 months old when we had hers done. They appeared to be completely healed within only a couple of weeks. They look great now.

I would talk to her doctor about it, some doctors actually do it themselves!

In my opinion she is at a great age to have it done because she hasn't yet found her ears!

I know i can make these kind of decisions on my own, i'm not going to do it or not do it based on any of these replys i just wanted to see what other ppl thought...but it has nothing to do with the fact that i cant make that desision alone.

I had my daughter's ears pierced when she was 3 months old. Of course she sreamed and cried for a few minutes, but so do most grown people. As long as you take care of them it is fine. She is now 8 and her ears ae just fine...Good Luck...

when they younger they won't mess with em as much and they seem to hold better when they are older i know some ppl that got em as teenagers and if they take em out for too long they close up and mine i got done as a baby and i can leave em out for mos and have no probs then my second set i got they start closin up and get swollen when i put earings in after awhile.i think younger is better

That is entirely your call. You and you alone will be making these decisions. People will think what they want, but YOU are the Mom. There will be more decisions like this you will have to make for yourself. It's always good to get advice but be careful of asking for advice alll the time. People will take this as an open door and give you advice when you really, really, don't need/want it. I used to do this myself. Being a new mom, I was pretty uncertain about a lot of things. But, asking all the time without doing research and coming to the conclusion myself I noticed people treating me like I was incapable of making these decisions. In fact, that was exactly what I was portraying. Just a heads up.



Of course, it's great to ask, but ultimately it is your choice.

Do the research and be confident in your decision ;)

I used to think that it was akin to mutilation to have a baby's ears pierced at a young age (under 2) ... But then lo and behold I went and got my daughter's ears pierced just last month. No drama, no fuss... I didn't think too much about it.. she looks cute in them... and I now cringe when I remember my previous comments about how terrible it is to 'mutilate a child with piercings'. I think that some people will certainly frown upon it - and others don't bat an eyelid. If you decide to do it just be prepared for the varied responses. So far most people who've seen my daughters ears think she looks adorable.

I had my daughters done at exactly 3 months. My dr. said to wait until her 3 month shots and then she could have them no problem. She is now 3 years and has never had a problem with them at all.

My mother always pierced our ears at a young age. When I had my daughter she also did hers at around 4 months. Since she was small what she did was that instead of inserting an earing right away she threaded the piercing and made a small hoop. this way it would not bother the baby while she slept and it was able to heal without the worry of it falling out and closing. I hope this helps.

i had my daughters ears pierced at 4mnths old and they were healed and fine within a few days she was her normal self five mins after having them done! my friend had her little girls done at 18mths old and she pulled and messed with them and caused an ear infection so each to their own but i would do it young xxx

Speaking as a former employee of an Ardene, I had people coming in at multiple ages to pierce their daughters ears.  I found anytime after 6 months is a good time.  you can also have both ears done at exactly the same time and it is much easier on the child.  I actually pierced my nieces ears at 6 months and she has had no problems with them at all.

I had my first daughters ears pierced when she was five months, and seven months for my second and i waited for my third daughter because time just got away and it was harder at age four my babies stopped crying in a minute, just keep the studs in and keep them clean good luck i love it x

the younger the better usually because they tend not to pull on the earings or feel the "pain" as long

otherwise you will want to wait untill she is old enough to understand the concept of piercing her ears.

but the pulling is the worse part just make sure you keep them clean keep her from pulling on them. :)

my God children got their ears done young but Kota (my daughter) wanted hers done at age 2 and we talked about it and made sure she knew what it took.

I Waited Till My Daughter Was 1 1/2yrs Old Because I've Heard At Too Young Of An Age It Usually Ends Up Lookin Uneven Cause They Change So Much The 1st Year Plus It's Alot Easier To Take Care Of Them With The Fact She Was Able To Be Up And About Not Layin On Her Tummy Or Back All The Time. I think she is too young.. I never even thought about piercing my babies ears until I got tired of people thinking she was a boy.... But then again most people pierce thier babies ears whenever they feel like it... Most doctors recommend doing it at 9 months old and then if you do it at that age they recommend that you do it at the doctor's office and not some place in the mall or some place like that. I pierced my daughter's ears at exactly 9 months of age and I did it at Claire's Boutique in the mall. I had no problems with how Claire's did it...They were professional and very sanitary... I think it's all in how you care for thier ears after it's done.



But I can't tell you to hold off or to go ahead and do it.. All I can say is what I went through. Hope that helps a little bit.
