Mirena or another form of birth control?

I had Mirena for about a year and then started developing heart palpitations. After many doctor visits, they recommended I try and take it out to see if that was causing the issue, so I did. My palpitations stopped after a week. Docs still aren't sure why it caused this issue, but has been known to have the same effect on others. I wish it would have worked for me because I love the simplicity of it all!

Well i had the Mirena implanted on Fec 2011, and found out i was pregnant on May 8th.. what a mothers day present... Went for ultrasound and IUD was NOOOOOOOO where to be found...

i have been on Mirena for about 4 years now. its true you either love it or hate it. i just settled for it. at the begining i did have my period on an off for the first year and everytime i would have intercourse i would spot. the best part of it all is that eventually my periods went away. there is no dealing with monthly cramps and heavy flows. good luck!

I have the Mirena and I would go with no other form of birth control. I love it! My periods only last 3-4 days and it is just light spotting. I have had no issues with it and would recommend it to every woman.

I love the fact of knowing that i cant get pregnant. It just sucks that i have periods twice a month.

I'm on my second Mirena now. I had the first one done after my twins were born. I had some light spotting and some cramping, but after that i maybe had one or two moderate periods. I had that one the full five years. Now I'm on my second one. Same thing as last one. It's so nice not having to worry about pills or patches. I haven't had any ill effects.

I wouldnt let my dog use an mirena. That stupid iud. Ruided my cervix and I had alot. Of problem with it and now their is a law suit happenin

I have had it for a year. It's awesome. There's some spotting but to me it's better than horrible cramps all the time and the fear of getting pregnant. I say do it.

I have the mirena and I love it! This is the second time I had it, I used it in between my first and my second. The first time I had it was for 3 years and I still had a period on it every month but it was very light and only lasted 3 days. I was able to get pregnant within 3 months of having it removed. This time around I've had it a little over 2 years, I''ve only had my period about 5 times completely irregular and only lasting a day or two.



With the Mirena from what I've heard you either LOVE it or HATE it there is not in between. Me personally I love it, the only drawback is after you get it put in for about 6 weeks afterwards you are spotting and bleeding.
