AGE does not matter. But HAIR does. :) Seriously.
Your daughter is at that tender pre-puberty age anyway. This means that self-esteem and self-confidence aren't far behind. Again, you want to foster these feelings in her, not help destroy.
And I don't think you are! It's a valid question, but it comes down to one other thing besides hair:
What does she think? Ask her. If she declines, explain your feelings and why (teasing, etc). Suggest that she at least try it your way (although I don't forsee this being an issue).
Buy some razors and shaving cream together, so that she is familiar with doing so. Go home, run some bath water for her, and then give her a hands-on lesson; explaining the dangers along the way (nicking skin, rusted blades, etc.)!

I have 2 girls, we started with electric around 9 and after getting used to that slowly moved up to razors with shaving cream, but you need to show her the ouchy spots, like on knees, and up from ankle, and of course the shin, one of my girls gets going to fast and has cut in those spots, but they learn to be careful!!!!Teach them about razor safety, putting it up in a safe place so no younger children get a hold of it!!

I started shaving my underarms in 4th grade because one of the boys in my class made fun of me when I wore a sleeveless shirt. I think its better to let her start shaving early than her being self-conscious about what she wears.

She's 10 years old and has very hairy legs? I don't thin she's too young to shave. Maybe you should probably start out by helping her to do it for a while until should becomes comfortable enough to do it on her own. Maybe an electric shaver would be safer right now.

i let my girl start to shave at 11. but if your girls are real hairy, and its starting to affected her, then do it,but get them waxed.that way you only have to do it every 6wks.from 10 on wards i feel a good age,it depends on the childern, some dont get affected by it,some do.other girls just go and do it,without their parents knowing.i think waxing is a good idea.but you will need to give her that choice, waxing or razor, either way she needs to know it will hurt a little, course of her age,but if she has no pain tolerence, then you should be sweet as.if she does use a razor, you are best to shve every 4 to 6wks.ive told my daughter to that from the begining,it saves legs and arms getting extra hair,as the more you shave, the thicker and hairy it all goes back.and its worked for me girl.she has the same amount of hair to shave of every time she shaves.is the amount she shaved the very first time.but good luck.
