yes, they eat more when they are growing. my two year old is a pig. their bodies tell them what they need, so i would not worry so much. my six year old was eating like crazy a few days ago, and she grew!

my son is 2 he'll turn 3 in dec. and he is always eating. but hes also always running around too. i would say its normal. by this age they start to grow alot anyways. hes has days where he can eat alot and then some days where he wont eat too much. dont worry its just part of the growing process.

2 year olds grow a LOT this year, and need the proper nutrition to really satisfy their hunger. Begin good habits now and build some strong building blocks to set a good foundation - give him (her?) lots of raw fruits and vegies to snack on, as well as good carbs (be a label reader - nothing with hydrogenated fats - hint - the shorter the list of ingredients, the more you want to gravitate to those items). My kids (who are now 19, 17 and a tall 10) are all in excellent health, never get sick, and will grab a raw piece of broccoli (has much more calcium than milk!) or carrots for snack. Check out my website for more nutrition tips www.beckysjuiceplus.com. But in a nutshell, give him 9 - 13 servings of Fruits and vegies a day, with good grains (no white sugar, white flour), raw nuts and a little lean meat, and he will not be starved all the time. Hope this helps!! Blessings!:)

Sounds like your 2 year old is just going through a growth spurt. My son does that to this day, I make sure there are healthy snacks in the fridge if he wants to grab something out of there. It is better than snacking on junk foods. My son grew one inch since we moved in here less than a month ago. Kids go through growth spurts at times, sometimes they don't eat as much, or they eat more. My son is going through another growth spurt again.
