Hi Brittany...go to the grocery store and buy a product called RIBENA...it is black current juice and is in the aisle where you would find the Lime Cordial and drink mixes I think ...and when mixed with some water makes a really pleasant drink that they love...really helps in the going to the bathroom department...mix about 1 oz in 8-10 ozs of water ...good luck

try give her some baby pears. you can buy tins in the baby food section even if it's just a spoon full. i swear by it..... or a tiny bit of disolved brown sugar in her water. also works......if it doesn't get her to the doc asap. my daughter would sometimes go two days with out a poo but thats wat i done and nine times out of ten she soon done her business. or it could be her formular. just a case of investegating wat works for your baby.

mineral oil, mirulax (i think thats how u spell it).  the mirulax is avail over the counter now I believe I gave it to my daughter 2 x a day she now longer is on any meds now for this but it did take a while.  she was hospitalized for cronic constipation and had to have a procedure done to remove some of the backed up stool...not fun.

i had the same problem with my daughter when she was 1 week old i was told to give her cooled boiled water (but my daughter didnt takeit , not all babys do) i was then told by the midwife it might be the formula i was feeding her (SMA gold) so i switched her formula and it has worked now she hardly ever has problems going to the toilet!

Try feeding her pears or give her some pear juice, if she's old enough.  Also try to give her papaya, kiwi also works great.  If you give her anyone of these fruits it should work.  They are natural laxitives.

My daughter had this same problem due to the formula she was on.  We had to change her to Good Start, but until she was fully off of the other formula, we would have to sit there with the diaper open and move her legs to help her push it out.

When you make a PB & J put a little oil in the PB and mix it up so she will not taste it and this will soften her stool and help to come out easier. I dont know if she is scared or her bottom needs to be looked at. I was a nanny and the little girl I watched had to have surgery on her bottom to get out the stool and this is what the doctor recommend for her. I hope this helps, if you have any questions let me know.

I agree with Alice hun, those infant suppositries work like a charm, but do get your bub to a doc as soon as possible!! Rather be safe :-))

Lots of water in her diet? Fruit?  Prune juice? Cut back on dairy until doctor appt. Is there any blood in stool? Are they loose or hard? She could have a fisher in her bowel, my baby had one, very painful. Be careful though...if she develops consant pain or fever, blockages are rare but they do happen. There are infant suppositories...if you went to a drugstore and spoke to pharmacist....they can be very helpful. hope I;ve helped
