I am a single mother with a five year old. He will be starting kindergarten this September and I am due in November. I am a little scared about doing this all alone. My support group is vast, but I still have thoughts at night of my new child not having a daddy. My sons dad and I are good friends and we raise our son together even though we are separated. But this time I am truly alone. It is for the better, but I still feel blue at times.......

Wiht you and his daddy separated, I'm sure you know what it's like when you're on your own. So you know you can do this. With any luck, your ex will help you with your new baby as well, even though it's not his responsibility financially. Just the moral support will be plenty helpful, believe me.

The blues never go away, but the bright side there a lot of sunny times when you look in those babies eyes.

You know you will be fine, you know why? Because big brother will help out a lot. Really he will...and your mommy skills will come into play and it will be easy. I am worried about my situation, I have an 19 month old (going to be two) when I have my second and both their fathers (or I should say sperm donors) took off...so it's all me! Have faith and everything will fall into place! :)

Kindergarten is such an exciting time... you are going to love it. :)
I am doing this all on my own. It can be pretty hard, especially when he's crying and there's nobody here to help me, but Vanessa - you can do this. Your baby will give you a fresh and incomparable strength. You sound like a strong woman. You CAN give your children what they need.
