I am a single mother of four. My eldest lives with my mum, because she has a different father to my younger lot. She is now 14yrs old, but has been playing up at college. Before then, at intermediate, she was suspended for bringing alcohol and drinking on school grounds. Now at college-at the end of last year-she was bullied but blindsided and attacked her bully after the incident. Just recently she's been caught stealing an ipod from another student at school. I don't know what is going on with her, when I ask her why she's doing this, her response is always - "I DON'T KNOW". Those kind of answers really get to me and I am frustrated, I get angry because I don't know how to help her, or even begin to figure out this attitude change, unless she speaks up. Could somebody please help me??

she is in college at age 14 really, here most 14 year olds are still in grade 9 and not being with her mother might be a big reason she is spiralling she is trying to get your attention and by doing these things that is exactly what she is getting. If she truly is in college then I would say she is quite smart academically but not mature enough for the situation yet. You need to sit down and have a long chat with your daughter and find out where she is at I wouldn't rule out bringing in a counselor to help her deal with her issues
