Hi! I have a recipe from my mother: just slice a carrot and mix it with brown sugar. After some time the sugar will melt and you can give him the syrop. I usually slice the carrot in small bits so my daughter eats the carrot as well.

My sons has coughing fits and the only thing that helps is a nebulizer treatment. It works wonders because sometimes the coughing gets really scary.

Quoting Anna:
How long have they had the cough?? It could be a sign of asthma so maybe get it checked out. Both my children have asthma and this is how it started.
I have to agree with Anna, My daughter is 3 and half and she has asthma, coughing at night when they dont have a virus ect is a sign of asthma.
Also agree with the other comment of a humidfier (sp?) Either get to the docs and see what they say!
How are they in the day?

I do the vicks on the feet with socks, and also use Hylands homeopathic cough syrup, which does wonders.

i agree with anna, but surely this would of been diagnosed a long time ago. talk to a ped and tell them all about this they can tell you if he does have a wheeze.
in the mean time make sure he is inhaling clean air. ie: no damp / smoke

Give them a spoonful of honey that is one of the things my sons doctor told me and also make their bed a little bit elevated so that their head is slighly elevated when they are sleeping (putting a thick book like a dictionary on the bottom of the matress).

I rub vicks on Madison's feet and put socks on her. Really helped. I tried the vicks plug in but it made the WHOLE place smell like vicks. I could not deal with that.

You can get these vicks air vaporizers..they come where you can either plug it into the wall, or you can get one that is like a humidifier..My daughter was really stuffed up when she was small..thats what I used it worked really well for her.
