12week old has restless sleep

my 12wo son is waking 4 times a night normally, but for the last 5 nights when i put him into cot he has been kicking, grunting, waving arms around from 12-4ish and altough he's not crying he is keeping me awake (and i don't feel he is getting a proper sleep) then he's grumpy in day with about 1 1/2 hour sleep 8am,and 4 1/2 naps in day (20month old sister keeps him awake).he will stay asleep on me, but i don't want to go down that road again!!( sister never slept through night til he was born) whats changed?

Hi, I have the opposite problem! My 10 week old sleeps throughout the night but will only nap during the day (max 40mins)! At night we put him to sleep at 7pm every night, no exceptions. We feed from about 6.15, sit up with him for 10 minutes after a feed, wrap him and put him to bed. This was hard for the first 2 nights, but after then it has been great. By wrapping him, he doesn't toss around as much or get cold in the middle of the night. Not sure if this will work with you, but we found a routine was just what our little one needed to sleep happily through the night. Good Luck :)
