I love that the children and my husband play soccer, and love it!!! But I'm worried that this year we are going to be playing soccer 6 days a week, and that there will be no down time...time for other family things etc. (and that I will be totally drained)

I also am worried about nutrition, as I am not off work untill 5:30 and we need to be on the field by 6:15 every night...

anyone got any quick meal tips, or ways to keep other activities going as well (friends/family etc)??

Looking for ways to keep my family happy and balanced (physicallyu and emotionally)

Thanks

I completely understand your dilemma! I have a 14yr old that does club and now high school soccer, plus I have 2 other children. We get so tired of fast food and quick things like sandwiches! I have talked with other mom's at the field and some of them have told me about cooking a few meals on the weekend and having them ready to warm up quickly when you get home...we will try this in the fall when I have all 3 in soccer at the same time. We too have done the picnics and I have tried to do dinner prior to, but none of the kids really want to eat and then run in the heat!
As far as balancing out other things...I have a calendar and we plug in all of our activities and we use Wednesday's as our reconnect nights. We go to church and eat with our church family, go to our individual classes and then spend the rest of the evenings together. Sometimes my hubby will hit the golf course while we girls are at church. I try to use the "down time" while one is playing to spend quality time with the others. Whether it's homework or reading to them, we try and fit it all in. My hubby gets them as soon as I hit the door at night and helps with bath time and bed time. It's a crazy life, but we love spending so much time together and we know where our kids are and that they are happy and healthy! Hope this helped a little :)

Wow, that's intense. We also have soccer 6 days a week but this is with my high school son. Do all of your children practice 6 days a week? When our children were younger, we had family picnics on the sidelines while one child practiced and then fed that child as soon has his/her practice was over. Good luck!
