Softball uniforms look like baseball uniforms

So my 2 daughters have played softball for 5 years....began in CA then we continued when we moved to NC. I really never thought about the uniforms until this season since we are now living in FL.....the uniforms look JUST like the boys baseball uniforms. My girls have always worn shorts/sliding shorts,long socks,softball jersey....shin guards bc they play infield. When I went to sign my 12 yr old up for rec.ball, the lady asked me to pick a good size for her based on the sizes of pants on the wall. I was like, girls wear baseball pants? I was dumbfounded at this. She thought I was weird bc we'd always worn shorts. My high schooler wears pants but they are softball pants. Does anyone else know what I am talking about??? I am def. gong to buy my daughter some softball pants.....I mean she did wear pants in NC when it was cold but they weren't long like the baseball pants.....this is just odd to us. And it gets hot in FL and I know my daughter is going to be miserable as it continues to get hotter and hotter.

I'm in GA and our 9-11 yo girls wear baseball pants. We chose these because they aren't as form fitting as the softball pants and protect their legs when sliding. As for the heat, we just make sure that we get light colored pants and take frequent water breaks.
