My daughter is 18 months and everytime i go to the bathroom she has to come with me i have the potty chair set up for her right next to the toliet. She sits down and will actually go in her diaper but when i take it off and try to get her to go potty she screams and throughs a fit. Can anyone give me any suggestions

my sons hated the potty, wouldn't have anything to do with it, ever! Instead they wanted to go to the big tiolet, like mummy. So I got one of those "cushie tushie" a tiolet seat that sits under then actual tiolet seat (so it is a right fit for them) and got a stool. Also, because they loved reading, I added a couple of car magazines...to encourage them to be in there. worked like a charm

My 18 month old daughter does the same thing. She has actually gone potty a few tims, but I think it's because her older brother (my 3 year old) is currently potty training. I personally feel that my daughter is a bit too young right now. Believe me I wish I could potty train them both. :-) Your daughter will start to go in the potty when she is ready. The great thing is that girls mature much faster than boys.

Hope this helps a bit.

Girls tend to take a step forward then 2 steps back. just be patient, dont rush her. Try reading a book, sing songs, treats. its good she sees how u go as an example.

I'm there, too! I think part of the issue for my daughter (almost 18 mos) is that the little potty seat isn't comfortable for her boney bottom to sit on for very long. Maybe it's because they're made for "bigger" toddlers. That's my theory, anyway.... :p
If she likes to sit there I'd just let her -- diaper or not. At least she's getting used to the idea of sitting on the potty.
I found a toilet training seat that is super cool on Amazon. It seems like it's going to be a lot more comfortable for my LO to sit on. Here it is -- I'm excited to get started with the official potty training next month (we have a big trip coming up and I don't want to waste my time). http://www.amazon.com/Mayfair-86CP-000-N...

Good luck to you on the potty training! I'm feeling kind of overwhelmed because potty training is such a weird thing -- a life skill, but how does one actually teach it?! My plan is to just go with the flow and make it as positive as I can.

she may not be ready yet. don't hurry her. just let her sit on the potty when she goes make a big deal of it. ir she does not let her know that it was good that she tried. te harder you push her the more she may push right back.
