Routine during the day, watch for sleep signals, don't be afraid to put them down for a nap in case they don't sleep at night. They sleep better if they're not over tired.

a baby at 9 months old,..well they diffently change their routines of sleeping behaviors. Mine has. Try to make sure your baby goes to be around the same time every night. Get into the same routine. If not you will continue to have problems until you keep up with the same pattern. Once the same pattern keeps happening your baby will know when it's time for bed and time to wake up.
