advice? first time mommy!

my daughter will be 8 months in about 2 weeks. she eats good and sleeps like an angle, but im worried with her learning. she sits up pretty good she tips over every once and a while but other than that her sitting is good, she babels on all day... but she hasn't started to crawl or even try, i put her on tummy time and she just lays there, i get down and crawl, try and put her legs and arms into position but she still doesn't want to. she stands up (with my help) but doesn't want to move her legs. but mainly she likes to be bouncing in her bouncy....i am sure she will learn on her own that crawling is great, but any advice on her to get her to crawl?

Agreed that you shouldn't worry too much about it. My niece didn't ever crawl, really. She just rolled, and then learned to walk. She still isn't a very "physical" child, but she's very intelligent and creative and is an advanced speaker for her age. Every child has different things that they are good at. Some kids just aren't interested in crawling!

My daughter did the tummy slither we called it and my other daughter did the but hobble (where she dragged herself on her but using one leg to push her along). So both did not crawl. My first walked at 10 months though, and my 2nd at 11. No one child develops at the same rate and in the same way. She still has time :) Let go of the worries and enjoy every little milestone....it won't be like this for long. Before you know it she'll be running from you :)

hi there,like wat others have said all kids learn when they r good and ready.

my daughter was born Jan 07 and she craweld weh she wes 9mnths,my nephew was bor April 07 and he never crawld he went to walking but tht was at 1yr 2mnths nd then my bf cousins daughter was born Jun 07 and she was bum suffling at 6mnths so all these kids in same family did it there own way in there own time so dont worry and enjoy it y it last cus once they up and running ya cant get them to sit down 4 a mim lol x

Every kid is different. I have 1 year old twins and my son started crawling when he was 7 months but my girl didn't start until she was nearly nine months. He has always done things before her, infact he was born before her. I wouldn't worry too much. My friend's little girl who turned 1 Feb 23 is still mot crawling. She does do  a bum scoot now. I've read that some babies don't crawl at all, they just go right to walking. Maybe your little girl will do that.

mine crawled at 8 1/2 months i put her on her tummy and waved a toy in front of her out of her reach, she only did a few steps but within a week she was allover the place, but dont worry all kids deveolp at different speeds my daughter is now 2 and can run n jump n throw a ball but she is not talking at all yet but im not worryed :-)

Put the toys she wants out of her reach and she will have to crawl to get to them.  Also put her on her tummy as much as you can and put toys a little big away from her and she might just crawl to get them.  Don't worry though she'll crawl when she's ready.  I have a friend who's son is 9 months and he doesn't crawl yet either.  It'll happen just enjoy the time when you can keep her easily contained soon enough you won't be able to keep up with her.
