I have a 14m old and most days I will nap with him for 2hours even though I got to bed early at night. He still in my bed and breastfeeding. Do other mums do this?

I don't nap with my bub every day, but I do nap with him a few times a week I'd say. I'm about ten weeks pregnant and though I sleep plenty, and exercise every now and again, I enjoy a good nap every now and again.

I do on the odd occassion that I can get my 3 yr old and my 18 month old to nap at the same time. My 3 yr old rarely naps during the day so when he does I take advantage of it and nap myself with the little one. They are both extremely active.
I exercise regulary and have a good diet, some days I'm just exhausted and need a power nap

Yes! And it was the best advice my mother ever gave me when I became a new mother. To this day, if my 4 year old lays down for a nap, I will make myself lay with her, even if it is only 20 minutes. I feel refreshed after and the break in an otherwise hectic day is nice :)

Totally! And enjoy it now, because now that I have 2, they are not always on the same nap schedule therefore, I don't get my nap.

Thanks so much to the rest of you. Nice to know Im not the only one and not being lazy at all. Raychel: I need a good foodplan and more exercise too. And the weeks before my menstual comes, I seem to be very tired so I guess sticking to a plan and still taking naps is a good idea. Allicia: wow 3yr old and napping. Thats great. How did you keep him going? I hope my son will still be doing this. Becky: Must be tough having low iron and looking after a 16m old. I hope there something out there that can help you. Your routine sounds like mine one as well. Thank you for the praise! Andrea: teething sucks! 2-3hrs a night wow!! I hope it sort itself out soon. Yes that the good thing about 2 naps, using one to clean and the other to rest. My son gave up his 2nd nap after his 1st birthday. Thank you everyone!!

My DD is currently 8 months and teething and thinks that staying up for 2 to 3 hours at night is a blast (currently tackling that little issue!) so I nap when she naps for an hour or so in the morning, but will generally use her afternoon nap time to get stuff done.

I have low iron so my energy levels aren't great. I usually lie down & relax, although rarely sleep, when Sasha (16 months) has her nap.
I make sure I get some housework down in the morning, then we play or go out til lunchtime. I give her sandwiches & fruit for lunch so I am free to wash the dishes & clean the kitchen while she eats & then I am able to rest & not worry about cleaning while Sasha is in bed.
This is my daily routine & it works relly well for us. I am not breastfeeding & Sasha has always slept in her cot in her own room but I think every family is different & you shd keep doing what works for you. I think it is lovely that you have that closeness with your baby & have that time just the two of you every day. They grow up so quickly - cherish every moment.

YES, I have 2 children. my 3 yr old still takes nap but he takes naps in his own room and in his own bed. my 2nd child is 14 months and she is not a great napper. she will nap longer when I lay down with her in my bed and nurse her. we will both sleep for about 2 hrs. bed time she sleeps in her own crib in her own room . we just co-sleep for nap time.

I have a 19 month old. there are days when I take a nap with him on the sofa. I workout and am on a food plan so I know that there are just days that I might need a nap.

Jennifer: Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I hope you get things sorted soon. Thanks for the comment.
Donna: Yes that possibly is the case. Seem more like a habit that I need to snap out of. Try a good diet and exercise for a month to see if this is the reason why. Thanks for your comment.

I do most days, but I was just recently diagnosed with sleep apnea. So, that's probably why. I'm currently waiting for a second sleep study to see if a CPAP machine will help. I'm hoping it does, because I am one wore out momma!

I did this until my eldest was 3 months old, but never since...I just don't have time.
If you feel you need to rest, then perhaps you are misreading the signals, and what you need more is exercise to energise you - could be missing the mark there though.....
