Anyone else stay at home and work from home?

I agree, that is a very difficult issue when working at home. Especially with younger kids. They don't understand mommy is working. The very best thing that I did was to actually have someone come to my house while I worked in my office to occupy the kids so I could actually have "work" hours and not have to work a little here and there and never get anything accomplished yet work all day!

I am a full time student and have 4 kids. I set up my Uni timetable to allow me time at home with the kids. I also set up study time with the kids. I do online jobs a few hours a day for a second income. Cheers.

I work at home. I have 3 children, 4 years old and under. I also am a distributor for AdvoCare and I love it. Im so glad i get to stay home with my babies. Its the best gift I could have been given. Its sometimes hard to manage both but my kids ALWAYS come first.

I set a schedule and now since my children are also attending public school online, it can be a bit tricky. From 9-3 I'm a learning coach, I take attendance and log their lessons, help with school work, make sure the kids attend their live lessons with teachers and make lunch.. From 3-6, I work and catch up on email. My kids are old enough to make snacks and they help with the cooking and upkeep of the house. Some days goes very well, some days, it's difficult, but overall all, I enjoy the time with my kids and when my hubby comes home from being on the road as a truck driver, he takes over and gives me a break.

Hi Rebecca,

I have tried to balance between work and my family. I do most of my stuff when kids leave for school. My small baby (8) months is manageable coz once feed he sleeps most of the time.
I manage to review my businesses daily and take care of my family including having valuable time with the kids when they are out of school.

I have tried to plan my time so that when kids are home am able to give them valuable time. I also blog in the evening once they have slept just to catch up with my friends.

I work from home, there were times when I felt a bit overwhelmed trying to make time for work, house shores and family time. This is why decided to treat work from home as if I'm away at the office, I spend all day as a SAHM with my 2.5 year old and when my husband gets home he's in charge and I retrieve to my office space to work, my husband pretends like I'm not home while I'm working and knows not to interrupt me so he usually takes our son to the park or to run errands when I'm busy.



I am extremely gratefully and thank God everyday that I have this opportunity,I wouldn't have it any other way,I don't have to force my child to wake up super early in the morning so I can get to work on time, our mornings are always happy and relaxed, and I don't have to worry about fighting traffic to get to and from work, I am also saving money on gas, make-up,accessories, clothes, wear and tear on my vehicle, no dealing with workplace gossip and drama, and the most important thing of ALL is that it has allowed me tthe opportunity to spend more time with my son than a regular outside job would ever have.



My husband and I have recently decided that our son is now ready to start attending Preschool. So I'm going to start putting in my work hours in the morning, while he's at school, this way, when my husband gets home we all get to spend time together as a family.

I'm lucky i'm a personal trainer and I do nutrition consulting when my children are at school is when I work one on one w/ clients and then two nights a week I do phone follow ups on nutrition and my husband keeps an eye on our boys. The rest of the time is family time

I was in an accident that forced me to be an at home mom. I wish I could work at home I work in the medical profession everybody is going to the new computers where the nurse dictates in the visit. Every office has a billing office as well. It sounds like you are ready for a helping hand maybe. It really depends on what you are doing though. If it were me, I would find out what time my family was at home and declare that my off time. At home working mom's, I have found are losing the reality in which they started working from home for in the first place.
