I have a little boy who is 21 months old and everytime i have a bath he wants to get in with me so i can play with his bath toys with him at what age is it unacceptable to have him in the bath with me?

I'm not bathing with my son, but daddy does sometimes and I sit next to them on a chair - no room for mummy.
He is now 2 1/2 and as long as it is ok for daddy its ok for me. He has to know sometime and what better way to learn.
He does see us without close on during the mornings and evenings also.... so why not in the bath :) it is only natural.

i would say when he starts noticing mommy has different parts then he does. But you could always put on a swim suit and get in the bath with him 2 play

I shower with my son, but he takes his baths alone. I plan on showering with him, though, until he is old enough to do it on his own. You might try slowly lessening the times you allow him in the bath with you. Just for an example: Out of 7 baths that he's usually used to, let him in on 6 of the occasions. After a couple of weeks, take it down to 5, but always have him do the other ones by himself.
As for it being "unacceptable", when you both don't fit in the tub together or when he's able to properly clean himself. It's really up to you. Good luck.

I think thats up to you as the mother really. I haven't ever showered with my kids but am not against it. Its just as easy for me to shower during naptime..
I think once the child starts pointing out and asking about physical differences its time, unless you want to explain them!

thanks you helped quite alot i guess its soon for him to have his own baths lol, his brother will be old enough to sit in the bath with him soon im sure they can play together with there bath toys

That's a good question! I have been wondering that myself. My 2 year old still likes to occassionally shower or bathe with me. Thanks for the advice ladies

I took showers with my son, I tried baths but he just saw my boobs and thought it was a good time to eat. lol. didnt have a problem in the shower. I stopped though around when he was two. That is when I decided he needed to learn a little about privacy. He still sometimes takes a shower with his dad though.

I never took a bath with my children, but sometimes I would throw them in the shower with me (somedays it was just quicker, and somedays I just did not have to time to take one myself :) This worked for both of my children until about the age of two maybe a little earlier. Then they started asking whats that and pointing at my body. At that time i felt it was time for them to have their own baths. I don't have a problem explaining what their body parts are and teaching them, but I would rather not use my body as an exhibit lol
