I'd love to hear everyone's favorites. Boy names and girl names. I want something unique but not crazy! I definitely think outside the box but Chad is more traditional so it's tough to come to a mutual decision. Our daughter's name is Roxanne.

Let's have 'em...

My daughter passed away almost 2 years ago---but still I have yet to meet someone with her name NOT as a nickname. It was Lexie. That was her full name. I also like Lorelai, Lily, Rory , Emmalee and Elena for a girl.

My son's name is Jackson....but I also like Damon, Luc, Peyton, Reed, and Benjamin.

Not Parker! We have 'parkers' in parking lots to direct traffic! Or park goers, etc.

I like Maddox for a girl, I think it more feminine sounding and more appropriate for a girl than a boy.

My daughters names are Hannah Jewels (goes by Jewels) and Elizabeth Mae (goes by Izzie). Our daughters are both named after family members that are no longer with us. The names we have picked out for our 3rd are either Benjamin Garland or sarah Lamara ( Mara for short). But I do like River, Gideon, and Gage for boys and Harmony, Felicity, and Janelle for girls.

Dana, did you mean to say you want to name your daughter, Nixon? Maddox? Or hunter?
Dana, I like you! But seriously!
Lol I can't imagine a girl being named those names!
I'm not the kind who wants a prissy girly names, but I find it sad how many girls are being stuck with obviously boys names.
Was it a typo?!? :/

My son's name is Triston Alexander ( his middle name is my nephew who passed away) and My daughter's names are Cierra ( to honor her grandpa's heritage who passed away before she was born) Renee" (my middle name as well) Sydnee Noel (because she was due Christmas Eve) and Kennidy Ann (after both her grandmas) We wanted names that wouldn't have 10 in the class but everyone would know and could pronounce. I love all my kids names and wouldn't give into something that I truly didn't like. This child will have this name forever and you'll be saying it an awful lot:)

I never want to use common names, so I look on social security web site listings of how many babies each year are names which names.

Ssa.gov/oact/babynames

I also really dislike names that are spelled differently just to be unique, like Jacob spelled jaihkob. Seriously there is a boy whose mom posted on a thread that's how they spelled Jacob.

i like old names but do like to find one that isn't suffereing from over kill, i would of loved issabella and ava but they were a bit common, as was william which we wanted for a boy, my girls have very pretty girly middle names but their first names are a litte more adult i feel, i don;t really like molly, holly and milly, type names for grown ups (until they are grandmas then it is ok again) we have ingrid grace and ursula rose, and my son is alexander nikolaus, (but he gets nik) and i like a full name not shortened, (eg, with my son i never would of just called him nik even though that is all we call him) i also made a point of no family names or naming after people...just don't much to my MIL distress...i also think a name should be able to take you anywhere in life and get your resume picked up from the pile not skipped over. I don;t know what i'd name another baby, we were swaying towards thomas, ben or timothy for a boy and i do love eve for a girl...

We did not know what we were having so we had a girls name and a boys name picked. My sons name is Darius Robert and the girls name we picked was Cordelia Rose. I think waaay outside the box with names and my husband is very traditional it took alot for us to compromise so I hope the next one we have is a girl so we do not have to come up with another boy name. LOL

Haha! Chad just announced that he NOW prefers, Logan. So funny!

I think we might have decided on a boy name but we still can't agree on a girl name. I have my heart set on something and he just doesn't like it, mainly because he knows someone with a similar name and it reminds him of that person. ACK!

My daughter has quite a title. Her father's family is French Canadian Catholic so they always use three names. We wanted a nod to her French background so her first name has France all over it. I like alliteration in names and am an Anglophile so the second name reflects that. The third name was one that was on the list but when we saw her, it fit her perfectly. Altogether it's: Vivienne Verity Ivy.

I've done a lot of family genealogy research and found some very unique names:

Zella
Zaccheus
Leela
Minniola (Nola or Minnie for short)

I am also a fan of Imogen and Calliope.

My hubby and I had agreed that if we had a boy he would have been named Wilder Scott, after my great grandfather and my mother in laws maiden name. I was bound and determined to have Wilder in one of my childrens names! I didn't care if it was a boy or girl! LOL! But Lillian Lucille Wilder has stuck with us now and I have a feeling my hubbys nick name for her is going to be LiLu (LeeLoo) from the 5th Element! LOL!
