my daughter will be 4 in April and i was trying to think of something fun to do that would involve not only the kids but the adults as well. usually what we do is put up a party tent, have some food to nibble on and the adults sit around and talk while the kids run around and play. this is fine and no one minds but i just thought it might be fun to have some games. the ages will range from almost 1 to 75!! anyone have any ideas that they have tried?

For my son's 4th we did biscuit decorating. I bought a load of rich tea biscuits, made up a big bowl of plain white icing, and a load of sweets etc and let their imaginations run wild....it worked a treat, and they got to eat their result when it came to food time!

Also, we recently went to a "fantasy" party, where all the girls came as princesses and fairies,and the boys dressed up as dragons, pirates, and even one buzz lightyear!

For my son we did a carnival.  You can get tickets at Wal-mart for $5 (a roll of like carnival tickets) .  Pick something for a prize...we had a huge gift from christmas that my kids didn't need (K-nex) for a drawing at the end.  We had string on poles and over our fence two helpers clipped candy on it when the kids 'went fishing', we had helpers painting faces, we had trampoline jumping, we had ball toss into a bucket, we had all sorts of games and each station in the back yard cost tickets, candy was a prize at each station, at the end I had a neigbor who juggles to perform...they even juggled around the brithday boy...  Try familyfun.com for party ideas

An awesome website for all kinds of games - kids, teen, adult, ice breaker, outdoor, relay race etc...



Crafts are always a great idea for the kids as the other mother mentioned.



If you have boys and girls at the party try a princess/prince theme or pirate/mermaid. A scavenger hunt might be fun if you go with the pirate/mermaid theme. I'm sure the adults will get in on that too. :)

oh i like the ice cream idea. my daughter would love the princess idea however there will be some boys there that prolly wouldn't !! lol but i do like the idea of doing a craft. thanks!!

for my daughters birthday party we did a princess theme. we did a fun project with the kids.  we bought Foam tiaras and crowns and allot of gliiter as well as some other small decorating things.  The kids loved it!  AS for the adults we did an ice cream bar.  My husband bought a few types of ice cream and select toppings as well as princess/prince cups.  The cups worked great as a sunday dish and a party favor.  I washed all the cups for our guests and filled them with candy for them to take home!
