Bored 8 month old

how can you tell if a 8 month old baby is bored? I think the mother is bored with the baby!

I agree with Cindy W. - the baby's not bored, she's only 8 months old. Everything is new to her, they don't need any lavish, big activities. Give her a bowl of water and a little toy - it'll be just as good as taking her to the beach. Let her kick over some blocks. Make funny faces at her. blow some bubbles.

Its not the baby whose bored - you're more right with the "frankly so am I" part - its you. But that's okay - I imagine that you should, b/c you've got a more developed brain. Watching blocks fall over is nothing to you - to her, its an amazing experience of watching her hand or foot be able to effect something else. Play music, play Itsy-Bitsy Spider, roll a ball. Leave the TV alone. Too cold to go outside - let her look out the window, let her touch the window - watch her surprise when she realizes its cold!

If you, are bored, go ahead and do the Mommy & Me and library story time and all that. Moms do need some personal connections and adult conversations.

But for baby? Save your energy for the big activities until she's mobile and actually able to enjoy it all. Right now, let her enjoy being a baby.

Wow 40 below! Not sure about games, but if you guys could bundle up and maybe go to a local library for story time or maybe one of those indoor play areas for kids like Chucky Cheese or something? Even a trip to the mall so you can walk around and see the sights. That is what we used to do when it was too cold to go to the park.

Try the library. Our library has story time & sing along for infants & toddlers. It's a great way to meet other Moms & Dads in your neighborhood. Like Ashley J said, just bundle her up good before heading out. The mall is another place you could go too. You don't need to shop, just walk around. Some also have a play area for children. Good luck! Stay warm!

So I'm wondering does this Ashley Connor person have kid at all??? Play peak a boo or get down on the ground and play with and her toys!! Read a book to her practice words and yes sometimes TV but u want to expand her learning not narrow it down took jus TV!!! Try going places other then just outside!!! My daughter is about to be one and I still take her out in this weather I just make sure the car is heated before I put her in it and she is bundled well!! Put a blanket over the car seat and her then once u get in the car leave the first blanket on her and take the one that was covering the car seat off!! Just because its below 40 doesn't mean you are also bound too the house!!
