no, too early. until he is 6 months all baby can have is breastmilk or formula. if you do, be prepared for issues with constipation, baby tummy simply too young to digest...

my little guy is 4 months 2 weeks now and i started him on baby foods a little before 4 months they say your not supposed to for allergy reasons but he has had no reactions just make sure you wait 3-4 days between the types of foods and no meats until at least 6 months cuz babies cant digest meat as well even if it is pureed. Have fun feeding it gets messy sometimes lol

i think 4 months is a bit young for solid foods but purees and cereals are ok. I'd say at about 6 months go to babies r us and get this little thing that looks like a mesh bag with a handle. you can put solid slices of fruits or veggies in there without the worry of a choking hazzard. it works wonders for teething as well.

It depends on what you are eating, how do you think people fed there babys back before jared baby food? If it is like a soft banana or some oatmeal then a little taste wont hurt! I did it with both of mine and they are just fine!

I've heard that if you give your baby only breast milk for the first 6 months that she/he is much less likely (i for got the % from the study) to be obese as an adult. I started giving my daughter sweet potatoes first right before her 6 months. I think your child will start showing an interest in food around that time too.

If you feel that your baby is ready then yes. I started my son a farex at 4 months because he just was not interested in his bottle, he still has 4 bottles a day with 2 solid feeds. I now have him on a vegie mix at morning tea then a bottle and for dinner i still give him Farex then his bottle. He sleeps a lot better now too. Doctors will tell you not to until 6 months, but follow your instincts you know your baby better than anyone. The worst that can happen is your baby wont eat it. There is ready made foods for 4 - 6 month olds.

my mother-in-law was feeding all 5 of her babies organic rice cereal from 6 weeks of age and they all turned out just fine. very healthy bunch indeed. after speaking to my doctor, i started my little girl on tiny amounts of organic stage 1 baby food and organic rice cereal at 4 months. i only gave her very small amounts at a time and i also had no problems.

Maybe you should check with your Pediatrician. Every Pedi has a different feeling on this subject. Every book that I have read, states you can give your baby some baby food between 4-6 months.

NO! All your 4month old should be eating is breastmilk/formula and about 1tbs of plain baby cereal mixed with b-milk/formula.

You shouldn't start any jar foods till at least 6months.

No, all you should give to your 4 month old is breast milk/formula, or stage one baby food. I have a 4month 2 week old little man. We started a little bit of baby food. I only give it to him once a day and only about a half of a small jar. You need to make sure that you use stage 1.... Stage 1 Baby Food is pured a lot more and easier for your babys tummy to break it down. You want to start very slowly because their tummys aren't completely ready for food.
