I grew up in a close, loving, & affectionate family were we kiss each other on the lips. Even now I kiss my mom, dad & brothers on the lips.

I kiss all three of my own sons on the lips.

Do you kiss on the lips with your kids?

Yup yup!! The only time I don't kiss my kids on the lips is if I'm sick. But then I try to avoid kissing them at all because my oldest (he'll be 2 in a few days) gets mad and will grab my face and keep trying to kiss my lips lol. But we're all lips kissers in my family. My parents, my grandparents, my brothers, we are and always have been a very close and affectionate family. I don't care if they kiss my kids on the lips. They kiss me, I kiss them, kisses get passed around all day lol

Always!!! Unless one of us is sick. And when we dont he turns our head snad give us a big smooch!
I was never kissed on the lips as a child because my family wasn't very affectionate, but i think it is a great way to show affection to your child. How could anyone resist smooching those cute little lips?? lol.
The only rule i have is that he's only allowed to give kisses to close family, nobody else. Although he tends to wanna give little girls kisses all the time (but what's wrong with that? lol)

I don't kiss my son on the lips, never have and never will. I didn't grow up doing that and I won't simply because of germs. My husband doesn't do it and neither does any other adult, I won't let them. With small children it's cute but I find it odd and creepy as children get older, like school age. My son gives kisses on the cheek and it's adorable ♥ I'm a slight germaphobe and I can't stand the thought of denying my son a kiss (if that's what he was used too) because I have a cold sore, virus or toothache. But I don't judge others for doing it.

I kiss my 2.5 year old daughter on the lips. She won't kiss my fiancee or anyone else on the lips so I don't worry about that. The only way lip kissing would be wierd is if one of the kissers thought it wierd. I think it is fine and my daughter loves to give me a big "smoochy" when she is happy. So keep kissing!

Even though I always let my son kiss me on the lips (more often it's that rather than my initiation) I would feel really uncomfortable with him kissing my husband or others on the lips. Partly a germ thing, and partly because I don't remember us doing that growing up in my family so even though it's really sweet for me when he does it to me, it still feels odd at best for him to do so with other adults.

My boys still kiss me goodnight on the lips, they are 10 & 7.5. They don't do it public though, lol
My 18 month old daughter has just learnt and she loves giving everyone a kiss on the lips. She even chases her brothers around trying to blow raspberries instead of kissing them :-)

I've been conflicted about this lately. When my son was still a baby and nursing, I used to give him a peck on the lips each time he finished nursing. It was like a cute routine and signal the meal was over before i pulled him away from my body. I stopped because I didn't want anyone else thinking it was okay to kiss him on the lips--especially not friends who might give him a cold sore or any virus, and not even my husband or in-laws because it just seemed unnecessary and potentially weird. But more recently, around 2, HE started kissing me on the lips. He saw my husband lean in, hands cupped around my cheeks for a soft sweet kiss, and he then approached me and climbed onto my lap for what i thought would be a hug, and leaned in ever so slowly, hands onto my cheeks, and softly kissed my lips like he was 20 years old! Now does it more often, always with a glimmer in his eyes, hands onto my cheeks, and a slow romantic long smooch. It's adorable, and maybe fine, and I don't want to make it a bad thing, but is this okayyyy?

My husband's family are mouth kissers. My family are cheek kissers. My baby is a mouth kisser. I don't see anything wrong with it right now. When she's older, that might change. (she's not even 2) I'm uncomfortable kissing family on the mouth. I don't think it's *wrong* I just think it's weird.

I kiss my 2.5 year old on the lips. So cute! My 5 year old has deemed it "icky" and will only allow me to kiss the top of his head, lol. I don't mind, though, cuz he gives the best bear hugs! ♥ I feel that lip-kissing is just fine until it becomes uncomfortable (or 'icky') for either party :)

We kiss our son on the lips (he's 3) and probably will until he gets older and HE starts to feel uncomfortable with it. I think it's all fine, well and good when they are younger. But as they get older, into their pre-teen and teenage years, it can become a bit awkward. I'll settle for a kiss on the cheek then. :)

My son is 1.5, and I do kiss him on the lips. However, as he grows, if he wants me to stop, I will. I want him to be comfortable with affection; I don't want to push it on him.

My family kisses, my inlaws are huggers. To each their own. I don't think it's ever wrong to show affection. And as long as you respect each others personal boundaries it's all good. We have a nice mix. :)

I kiss my kids on the lips! But, if they want to make the decision not to as they grow up, I will be fine with it! I made that decision when I was a teen! I thought it was just weird, so now I kiss my parents and brothers on the cheeks!

I still to this day kiss my dad on the lips (on the rare occasion that I see him). I just grew up like that. Besides my Dad, my husband and our son are the only ones I kiss on the lips. I believe that there is nothing wrong with this kind of affection with our child! He grew inside of me & I love him so much. I believe that I should show it whenever I can!!

I'm teaching my one year old to give kisses, so I kiss her on the lips, cheeks, hands, forehead, feet, all over the place. She loves it. I'm pretty sure when she's older, she'll tell me she doesn't like it any more, and then I'll just give her kisses where I can.

all day long!! :) i was always really close with my whole family, we kiss everyone on the lips, and im sure that helps with how close we are. my husband is close with his dad as well, so its only natural that we are just as close with our daughter! :) maybe im more affectionate with my mom because she played mom and dad, maybe thats why my hubby is close with his dad, he played both roles. im not sure, but we will be close together!

I say do what is comfortable. I kissed both my parents on the lips up until I was a teenager and it started to make me feel akward. And now I kiss my son on the lips and will do so until he says he doesn't want to anymore or it becomes uncomfortable. I love giving and getting kisses from my son. It makes a bad day turn right around!!! I'm not giving that up without a fight!!! ♥

I think we stopped kissing our parents on the lips at about 10 and my daughter still does it to me. Whatever makes her happy. However, i just met my dad for the first time in October and I am 28 and he kissed me on the lips!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAGH! That was not cool. I think if families are comfortable with the way they show affection then it is fine. Eventually my daughter will be too grown up for kisses and i'll miss it.

I do not kiss on the lips because it makes me feel weird. I am teaching my daughter that only Mommy's and Daddy's kiss on the lips, because she has tried kissing me on the lips. I do not disagree with other people kissing their kids, but I personally couldn't do it.

I have a one year old and at the age of about 6 months he started giving me kisses. Honestly I could care less if I get slobbery wet mouth kisses because he is MY son and I don't have a problem with it at all. I think it is more of a decision that each parent has to make on their own. I personally love them everyone and i hope they don't stop any time soon because one day I will be a disease he can't get rid of and kisses any where are going to stop for a while. I plan on getting as many as possible till then though!! :)

Its the smoke that causes lung cancer NOT the nicotine. ie: the tar and other chemicals that the smoke contains.

I personally don't like it... To me, one should only kiss on the cheek until they are in a relantionship when they are older... Reason being is that some people smoke and can transfer nicotine to a child lips which can result in in Lung Cancer in kids.. Extreme example I know but it has happened... Or an adult can give a child a cold sore... And many more examples...
But doesn't mean that other people feel its wrong... Its just that I do...
