Does anyone else have a 5 or about the same age child having reoccurring migraine like headaches?

Yes they are heriditary. I can go back 10 generations and find the same information even though they didn't call it migraines way bck then.

My oldest gets them now every now and then. I have them, my mom, and just about everyone in my family has them. My youngest is 6 and she gets very debilitating headaches. She also has other medical issues tat may actually be causing them. I never thought I would pray for it tobe migraines. So is the nuerologist and nuerosugeon.
If she is getting them often enogh then I would say take her. Then they ae documented. Also keep a record of everything she eats, drinks, how long she sleeps at night, and ehat she is doing and for how long. It can give you an indication of what seemes to trigger them. Plus it helps the doctor to make a more accurate diagnose. Until then tough just do what ever it is you have been doing to keep her comfortable during them. I hope she feels better.

My daughter is 10 and has been having migraines since she was 3. I have taken her to the doctor a few times and had test done. And they still can not tell me why she keeps getting them. The most I can get is that some kids just get them and that she can out grow them. So I have learn to make sure she is drinking alot of water each day. And when she starts showing signs of getting a migraine I make her lay down and I give her Advil. The doctor has told me to double her dosage that is on the box.
But you should take her to the doctor and have them do some test.

Where do you live? We live by the mountains and the barometric pressure changes cause a lot of our headaches (weather headaches). I would definately take her to the doctor though. Better safe than sorry.

My brother used to get them when we were kids. I started getting them and we found out I needed glasses. Turned out I was very far sighted. Have you taken her to the optometrist yet? They should have their first visit by age 3.

I would just go straight to the doctor. She is really young and shouldn't have to suffer through it. Good luck.

I would take her to see a doctor also if she has long think hair try to get it cut, it sounds funny but I had to cut my hair and keep my daughter thinned out as the weight caused headaches.

My 5yo had headaches and I took her to a neurologist. I think that's what's in order next.
