Essure Birth Control...Anybody get this done?

If you think they are soo good you need to have them !!!!! There are so many problems with this and if you have not had it you really would not know !!! Please read all the problems before you tell someone how great they are :):)

i got essure in 06 and wish i would of never got them now due to the pain,and the money i have spent trying to find a doctor who even has a little clue to what these are,yes thats right when the coils make you very very sick you will have no doctor knowing what to do,and most have no clue what essure is....crazy i no but 100% true on my end!!!

I know some do great with this, but after all the problems I've had (and so many others), I beg you please don't do it. My GYN did put me under general anestesia for this procedure, so there wasn't any pain right away unlike a lot of women have described. There are so many horror stories about them almost passing out from the pain as the coils are inserted. My biggest problems started about a month after. I can now tell you every time I ovulate, and which side it is, because of the pain. I have always had a high tollerance for pain, and even this is enough for me to reach for some motrin I also spot with this. Even when I'm not ovulating, I have a constant pain on both sides. One day this last winter, I sneezed and there was an intense sharp pain on the right side. It was so intense that I did black out. Since that happened, I've started only having periods every other month. I've tried to get ahold of my GYN, but the nurse won't even let me talk to him and tells me everything is fine (over the phone!). I tried asking my reg doc, and she doesn't know anything about it. She never even heard of Essure until I told her I had it done! I'm honestly to the point with all the pain in my daily life from this trying to find a new GYN that will give me a hysterectomy so that I can get on with my life. There are so many women that have had problems with this, and so many that have had to resort to hysterectomies. I understand there are many women out there that haven't had any problems, but with so many having problems, it's not worth it. If only I had looked up these things before the procedure and asked more questions....

My sister had this done after baby number 2. It went very smoothly for her; she said the pain was very minimal, not even as bad as her menstrual cramps used to be. Both coils took just fine and she hasn't had any problems with it. I think, with all things you put in your body whether that be essure, iud, or even piercings, your body has a chance of rejection, but it doesn't happen for everybody.

I had the essure put in in January of this year. I thought everything was good. I started having severe pain right before I was due to get the HSG to make sure it worked. Went in for the HSG and only one side took. the other side the coil didn't stay in place and is now somewhere in my uterus. I now have to go in and have the one tube tied the traditional way and hope they can get the coil back out. I am in pain daily so much that i had to stop working out until IO have the tubal. In my opinion it is not worth it.

I just wanted to hear firsthand from anybody who has had this procedure how it went for them and their experience. There doesn't seem to be much online since its a new form of permanent birth control.

Before you go with this decision, google "essure problems". A friend of mine was seriously considering getting it done, and a nurse told her to google it first.
