Ok, this may sound weird but here goes... I'm breastfeeding my youngest son, and I also pump because I get so full it hurts at night when he sleeps. so now my freezer is full, and the milk does expire, so I thought what if I mix some in with my 3 1/2 year olds cow milk in the morning? My husband thought this was so bizarre, but I feel like it could only be good for him... what do you all think?

I agree with Sara Hopkins suggestion. Call your local hospital or La Leche League and see if they will accept a donation. Your extra breastmilk can help save a premature baby's life.

i dont see a problem with it either but i think donating it would be awesome. i couldnt breastfeed my son because my boobs stopped producing after i had him. nothing would come out! lol even if i pumped. i didnt find out about boobie banks as my boyfriend calls them until Logan was about 4 or 5 months old.

It wouldn't hurt him. In some countries it's normal to breastfeed up to 5 years old.

I think it would be fantastic for him. Donating to a milk bank is also a good idea.

DO it! It is soo good for them! If i had enough to do that my my 2 year old I would have! Probably will help fight off colds and stuff like that with all your antibodies!

Also look into the La Leche League, they can tell you about milk banks in your area for people who can't breast feed for some reason.

It wouldn't hurt him one bit! But you may want to look into donating it. Many hospitals will use it for pre-mature babies. My cousin was adopted and allergic to formula. She was kept alive by donated breast milk.

Here's a link for some information.
