what are some games or things you do with your 8 month old? I am looking for some new things to do with her. she is walking with either my help or the help of furniture, and she crawls very well. she sometimes seems bored with her toys and we dont have alot of cash to buy more toys. i have hit up some thrift stores but still i want to do more activiites with her... any suggestions? thanks in advance.

You can play pat-a-cake and Peek-a-boo, which requires nothing more than your hands. My daughter likes it when I sing songs to her, and enjoys nursery rhymes. Also, her new favorite toy is a bunch of cat balls we bought--little balls with bells or plastic beads inside that rattle. She had a lot of fun before we even took them out of the package. (I think she almost had more fun that way...)

If you think you can deal with the noise, give her a wooden spoon and an overturned pot, and let her bang away. Also "chase": she crawls on the floor (once she can crawl well, at least), and you follow her and chase her around.

I started teaching my daughter sign language at the age of 6 months. You can google American sign language to look for simple signs. Like more, please, thank you, thirsty, hungry, tired, etc. I also signed the letters when I sung the ABC's to her. This helped us all out a lot with communication. We made it into a game with her. She loved it. She will be 10 in Feb. and still knows how to sign.
