I recently drove from Colorado to Washington state (3-day trip, 1440 miles) with a 3yr old, 2yr old and nearly 2wk old. We had to stop every 2.5hrs when like clockwork my new son would awaken to eat, fortunately, my 3yr old had ZERO accidents. 2yr old was extremely cranky the entire drive. We sang songs, read books, ate snacks at normal snack times, lunch at normal lunch time, and talked about things as we drove by them (animals, buildings, climate, etc). It went fairly decently, but I'm not going to lie, there were times it was extremely stressful, in particular, when my 2yr old threw tantrums because he was tired of his seat. It's doable though! Good luck!

Hello there. We travel a lot with our three kids: now 9, 5 and 2. It may vary family to family, but I have always had the most success if I get everything done the night before and get everyone in the car EARLY. When we get on the round bright and early, it's possible 2 out of 3 will just go back to sleep. The later the start we get, the more stops, the more whining, the more all around aggravation.

Never underestimate the power of a variety of snacks and drinks and age appropriate entertainment.

Good luck and I hope you have safe travels!

just make sure that you have everything packed and make sure to have a bag inside the car of snacks, drinks, coloring books, reading books, music and/or movies, pillows, blankets, anything that is small that keeps kids occupied. You probably want to stop at the MOST 2hr intervals simply to change diapers and stuff.
