I like to take pictures or read, maybe catch up on my favorite tv shows ... pretty much anything that has nothing to do with being a SAHM.

I spend my spare time on the computer. It seems to just relax me. I have a boy 9 and 2 girls 6 and almost 4. I also sometimes just stop and listen to the silence.

i have been just going through a rough patch myself, about spare time! funny, that i came up on this thread.

i would love to have spare time like i used to, meaning anytime that i wasnt at work! haha, now being a sahm, i am always at work!

im just coming to terms with the fact that spare time is a lot different when you have kids. i have decided that i have to make spare time for myself, because i could be cleaning or doing laundry or something else if i didnt make myself take the time out to relax or do something i enjoy. nowadays, with a 3 year old daughter, a 7 month old daughter and babysitting a 15 month old boy... my spare time is when the 2 babies are sleeping and i get to have one on one again with my 3 year old! its nice to be able to catch up with her and cuddle or read books or bake etc. my alone time is when the kids go to bed, then i come onto the computer and am usually doing something like this...talking about my kids! sometimes i even DO GROCERIES at night...how special is that? lol! my husband is an epileptic so i dont usually leave the kids under his care for too long...they are too young to be able to respond properly, so until then, my "me" time consists of reading and computer...oh how i would love to go to the gym!

oh, and i was a dance teacher for the past 8 years and just heard of a tap class in my area taught by my childhood teacher...just for her adult ex-students, so i am soooo joining that! one hour a week....and its a passion that will never die, so it will definately give me some much needed me time! sorry if i babble, thats what i do!

My little girl is only 6 weeks. I thought I'd have a lot more spare time at this age, but she loves to cat nap... I would love to be able to sleep as hard as she does for 25 minutes and then be wide awake! I'm trying to get back into my scrapbooking, but it is tough with her sleep schedule. I think at this point in time, it may have to wait until after the holidays or I'll never get everything done before Christmas! Haha.

Tanya, we also had difficulty conceiving. I am so glad that your miracle finally came to you! 9 months, ohhh I love that age!

Danielle! WOW, you've been busy for the last 20 years! It must be nice to have them a bit older, so much more you can do together, I imagine.

Wow, you ladies are really maximizing your "spare" time! So how old are all out little ones? I have 6 year old twin girls and a 4 year old little man. What a fun little guy he is! He is so different then the girls were at this age, he keeps us laughing daily, such a wonderful addition to our family. We thought we were complete after the twins, after the pregnancy from Hell...I was happy to call it quits. BUT my son had different plans! And I am so happy he was so determined. He absolutely makes our family complete!

I finished up my Masters (online) & am now focussing my 'spare time' on preparing for Christmas - I LOVE baking for Christmas!! Other than that, I get online & chat with my sisters since we live so far away =)

Haha, yes I really don't have a whole lot of spare time either! :0) I usually get to go on the computer after the kids lay down for a nap and then in the evenings I get to get out and sell my Gold Canyon candles. I love it! My hubby is great about it, he knows that I need some time away from my kids every now and then!

My spare time is spent trying to catch up on my writing. I'd love to get this book finished and sent off to the editor but lately it's just not happening. Hubby's medical needs as well as home schooling our son and public schooling the three girls, providing daycare for 5 other little ones all week...yeah, spare time doesn't happen much around here LOL

Hi ladies! Nice to hear from all you! And yes I was absolutely being facisious about spare time...what is that? LOL Our spare time is so limited but its so nice to see that we are able to slip in a few moments for ourselves. Usually I will go to the gym, chat with friends on the computer or just sit and listen to the silence. Before the children, I loved photography too. I still do and have the best subjects, my children!

Haha! I actually read or I have been working on starting my own business. Web design and stuff. I'm doing small things for the company my husband works for right now. I also am really into photography and hopefully will get to go to school for it in a year or so!

What's spare time again? LOL. I normally spend my spare time catching up on my email, reading, or enjoying a quiet cup of coffee. If I'm really lucky, my spare time coincides with my husband's, and we actually get a second to have a conversation together! I'd love to be able to get outside and do something, but the winter weather rolling in has chased me inside.
