my 6 week old son was just diagnosed with a hernia. he will have to have surgery to repair it. They keep telling me it is very common, has anyone else gone through this with an infant?

My son had a double hernia, 1 on each side. He was 10 weeks premature and he had the surgery when he was about 9 weeks old and only 5lb and the doctors told us that it was common. He was fine, I made sure I only breast fed him to keep his stool soft, but it was fine.Good Luck
