My 5mo old has started this week to spit at me when I am feeding her cereal. How do I sop this. Because using a stern voice telling her no makes her laugh. She has always been very stuborn so any ideas would be a god send.

thanks

She probably won't respond to you telling her "no" because she's too little. My daughter is not on solid foods yet, but I worked at a daycare with infants. We had one that always spit his food. What I did was I got a paper towel. When I gave him a bite I held the paper towel up so that if he did spit it wouldn't get on my face. He ended up becoming very interested in the paper towel and never spit. Within a few days he stopped spitting his food :)

she's too little to be doing it out of disrespect. she's found a new sensation, food and making raspberries at the same time. it's a load of fun for her. just keep feeding her and try not to take it personally. the only way they have to explore the world right now is through their mouth.

tap her hand and tell her bad girl and turn your back on her when she starts to laugh.

ignore it i notice that kids do things in phases and this phase will pass and another one just as equally funny will start=)

Well my son does the same thing sometimes but his grandmother taught him that some how so I would be aware of who you have your child around , because I would think you don't want your child picking up bad habits . What I do is lightly place my fingers over his mouth to stop the food or spit from coming out and he stops , that is all that I can reccommend .

well it could be she's just having fun, isn't hungry anymore, or has decided she doesn't like the cereal. I'd change it up a little, what you feed her. etc. if its just the cereal then mix other foods with that.

when she does spit just say, "oh, that was not nice" wipe it off and walk away. "mommy doesn't like to be spit on"or you can say, "all done" and clean her up and get her down, no more food for baby who spits.

either way don't act surprised or upset or angry
