Ever since my son learned how to pull himself up he has started chewing on the side of his crib. I don't feel that it's safe and I don't know how to make him stop. Anyone have any good ideas?

I have a teething ring in the crib with him and he did chew on that too but now that he has learned how to pull himself up he just chews on the crib and he only does it early in the morning before I get in there to get him up for the day. I will look into the the crib rail teether because he has left teeth marks on the crib he has even took off some of the finish.

It used to be (my babies are grown now) that if they chewed on their cribs it was either because of teething or a lack of a certain nutrient in their diet. The nutrient escapes me at the moment. But my kids didn't chew so I would have to look it up.

You can get a crib rail teether at Babies R Us to put on it. I got one for my son when he started doing that. It's a gummy thing that sticks to the rail so he's not chewing on the wood and ingesting pieces of crib. I don't think you can stop him from chewing on his crib.

I don't think that it isn't safe. He is most likely teething and you might not be able stop top him but redirect him to something else to teeth on. Put a teething ring in there for him. I don't think there are any toxic chemicals on cribs most of them come with teething plastic that goes on the edges for teething.
