Vinegar, bi-carb soda and lemon juice...in that order!! i use it on everything and have never looked back, i have chemically induced eczema so this works wonders. I use dettol (or any good brand name antibacterial solution...please don't use generic for this it wont work and baby oil in a spray bottle shake it before use and spray it on you and your LO will keep the mosquitoes at bay and if they do get bitten the antibacterial solution will stop the swelling. I also use white vinegar in my washing instead of fabric softener, works just as well, is cheaper and leaves no smell. when i vaccum the carpet i sprinkle on some bi-carb soda and leave it for 30 seconds and vaccum as usual. to mop add in some vinegar bi-carb and lemon juice into boiling hot water will remove anything on the floor and your home will be lemony fresh. to remove mould use white vinegar...works better than any anti mould product!!

I have been using Melaleuca products for the past 2 1/2 years and find them to be the best I have tried and the best value for your money. I tried Method, Green works, Seventh Generation and a few others that I can't remember their names. I found none of the others I tried actually worked or some weren't even truely natural. I love the Melaleuca products and will recommend them to anyone to try. They also allow you to try their products for 60 days with a 100% money back guarantee if you are not satisfied. Once I removed the harsh chemicals from my home and started using these products, my 6 year olds eczema is completely gone and he no longer has a chronic runny nose. I also invested in a steam mop which I highly recommend. No more products on my floors. If you want more info on Melaleuca I can help.

I have found a whole online store that I shop at now. It is all green, safe products that are not any more expensive then what you find in the local stores. I had no idea until I started doing research when pregnant how some of the so called "green" products are not good either. I have no idea how to post it here or if I can? I have been a customer now over 4 years and loving their products. They are green plus they work! The stain spray is my favorite. Never had throw out any of my sons clothes for staining (even all those "organic stains").

Vinegar, baking soda, and lemon juice.
The only manufactured chemical we use is Simple Green (you buy it in concentrate and it's inexpensive, the $7 bottle lasts like 18 months). It is a mild stomach irritant, but not deadly. We switched to cleaning the toilets with that when we got our first dog (he would lift the toilet lid to get a drink even though his water bowl was right in the kitchen!) and have pretty much stopped everything else. :)

Well I have been using Green Works for some time now, and I love it. It cleans great and has a light smell nothing over powering. Everyone one has thier preferances to what they like and use. Basically you should choose what you feel will work for your family. My kids are 10 and 3 and I have never had any problems.

I'd look for household cleansers bearing the new Natural Products Association Certified seal. It means that at least 95% of the ingredients (excluding water) are natural and that the other 5% have no natural alternatives or known health risks.

Be careful with bleach. It is extremely harmful to our health. It kills our T cells which in turn compromises our immune system and it has been shown to raise hormone levels in women. I know somone who was a fanatic about using bleach on anything and her hormones are all messed up. Another of my friend's dog goes into an epileptic seisure when she uses bleach in the home. ESPECIALLY do not mix it with any other cleaner. This can be fatal with in minutes!
I use white vinegar mixed with water (half and half) for everything except the toilets. For the toilets I use clorox bleach. Vinegar disinfects just as well as bleach, but the bleach gets rid of the ring in the toilet so much better than the vinegar. The best part...it's so cheap! I can get 2 gallons of vinegar at Sam's for $4 and it lasts for months.

I felt the same way when my boy was little. When my boy was about 2 years old, a friend of mine who is a PHD of chemistry introduced me SNAP. I started using disinfectant cleaner and all purpose natural concentrate to clean his toys and his bath tub and mop the floor and other areas. I used to using Pine Sol to clean the floor, and my hands got drier afterwards; my hands are fine after touching these two products. I felt these products should be safer than other products I bought from local grocery stores. I still have them two years late because they are highly concentrated. There is the link, www.marketamerica.com/gohealthier, you will be able to find more information about them. Also, you get up to 35% cash back when shopping on the website!

Vinegar. It smells bad but it gets rid of the germs. Also lemons and baking soda work great. Lemons work on hard water stains. A cap full of vinegar in a squirt bottle filled with water works better than Windex. Black and white newspapers also work better than paper towels for wiping windows/ mirrors. Baking soda works great with a brush on cast iron sinks.

vinegar is a natural antibacterial.Lemon is a natural disinfectent. Baking soda is great for cleaning the bathrooms. If you use a funnel and pour some baking soda down the drain then add vinegar is will clean out your drains. Look up on line natural cleaning and these things will come up. I use them everyday. Use baking soda and salt to scrub your sinks.
Norwex. My mom just gave me these great cloths. Each child has a washcloth....they are naturally antibacterial and you just add water. You can use them multiple times and then just wash them (no bleach or fabric softener...which we don't use anyway.) I also have one for dusting and one that is used for stain removal. If you spill coffee or salad oil on your clothes, you just wet the cloth and rub out the stain. They are great! Since they were a gift, I am not sure how expensive they were. But you can check them out and see. Other than that, we use a lot of vinegar in this house!
