How much water should a 9 month old drink?

Babies do not thirst as we do. If they're completely breastfed along with foods, then they do NOT need water. However, when they begin drinking cow's milk (only starting at age one!), then it's a good idea to give them water at that time. If the baby's formula-fed, then look at how much water you're dumping into the bottle along with the powder each and every time you feed the baby. Mothers have a hard time with this issue, but babies do NOT thirst the way we do for water. Ask your doctor how much water your 9 month old can drink.

As long as my daughter is drinking enough milk, I was told it is okay for her to drink water when she wants. I was told it was a good thing to add in the summer and when she's feverish or dehydrated for any other reason. My daughter loves drinking water from her sippy, so we always have it with us.
