I bet!!!!! Omg that's aweful. I know it's sooooooo expensive to live sometimes and it depends on where you live that it can be even MORE so. We lived in Wyoming some 10 years ago and cheese cost almost double back then being so far out. It was strange. We moved to California and were surprised at how much cheapter the vegetables and fruit are and that they are available all year around too! California compared to Washington state that is.

So where are you now? We're in California still

I have our food budget down to about 40-60 a week. We do basics like buy meat on sale, and stock up the freezer full of it when we can (like chicken for 99 cents a pound) and any other good deals we can find. That way you're not paying high prices all the time. You live off of the lower meat prices.

I also buy Babies R Us brand diapers which are 25$ a box instead of 35-45$ a box. They work great, haven't had any problems from them and my son is 7 months old, already in size 5 LOL big guy :)

What kills us the most is gas prices, as we were used to paying 3$ a gallon and that can make it hard to go anywhere... but this almost 5$ a gallon kills... eats our soul. And it doesn't help we had to get a 4 door which only gets 18mpg. I hate it so much, I miss my 2 door and the freedom of being able to go places so much I would almost rather have a car back, no matter how hard it would be with a baby lol

It can be very expensive.. very indeed.

We're a family of 3, Mommy, Daddy, and a toddler and we've always been once a week food shoppers. We've just moved from the UK to the US and I'm finding it difficult to adjust to food shopping here (and I'm American!!) In the UK we'd spend on average 60GBP every week for our groceries, and that would include diapers, wipes, toiletries... anything we needed that week. Here in the US we're spending about $100-$120 a week and that's JUST food!

Food has been going up for a long time now. The cost of living has increased so much, whilst the average paying job hasn't. It's bad.

My boyfriend and I shop once a week but I'm still getting in the hang of being a mother (my son is 7 months old). I've got out budget down pretty low though, and we eat pretty healthy so I just try to stick with it.

the price of food is supposed to go up a fair bit this year from what I heard.

We do our shop about once a week, Try meal planning, it will help you decide what you need to buy and keep stock of what you have in your cupboards/freezer. We spend between $150-$200 depending on whether or not we need toiletries, diapers and formula. Meat is also a budget killer.

i shop once a month on our second payday. our first one is always eaten up with rent and our car payment, so once a month is my only option.

We only make two trips to the grocery store a month. Every two weeks on payday. We usually spend around 300-400 dollars to last us the two week, so we try to map out our lunch and suppers. On occasion, if we are missing some small things here or there, we will make one trip in between to get only what we need to tie us over.
