How to keep my barely 2 year old from removing her diaper.

My just 2 year old manages to remove her diaper at night time and nap time. We have tried keeping her up until she is very tired, putting extra tape on the closures and starting potty training (which she seems no way ready to do yet). I am an experienced Mom of 3 grown kids and have never had this problem before.

The backwards diaper has worked like a charm with my youngest (she'll be 2 on Oct.2nd). Never had the problem with the oldest.

We always make sure our son's wearing a bodysuit so stop this from happening. We've also switched to pull-up nappies too which he can't get off atm =)

Duct tape. It was shared with me by another mom and it actually works.

After an incedent that still makes me cringe I started putting my daughter's diaper on backwards with bloomers on over it. Worked for me =)

we got pull ups for night time that fit really well. I don't remember the brand, but the sides did NOT open. Were like panties and you'd have to physically rip the sides to get them off. backwards diaper seems like a pretty smooth trick though. I'm logging that info in my mind for future use!

Brittany, I have been using a lightweight moving tape and as long as I place the ends in the back, it is working so far. Savannah doesn't do the poop paintings etc. but the wet sheets were getting old. LOL Thanks!

it may sound a bit redneck but duct tape...my mom did it with my sister. just rap the waste band with duct tape so it cant be removed...not tight enough to hurt her just enough to make it secure...my sister thought it was a game and it stopped the poop finger paintings on the walls every morning!!!

Huggies just came out with a new diaper. It is just like a Pull-Up but with the same absorbancy as a diaper. It pulls up for quicker changes but also has velcro on the sides for easy removal. They are Huggies Little Movers Slip Ons.

Jennifer, this is a good idea too. I will have to buy some sleepers without feet and try that too! Thanks Ladies! I now have some great ideas.

Melissa, she takes off all her clothes! I put on tight denim shorts and she managed to get out of those too. That did work for a day or two, until she managed to get out of what we called her constrictor shorts - lol !

You could also try putting a onsie or sleeper (depending on weather of course) on backwards.

I just found pull up's in small sizes, by Huggies I believe. That might help...I feel ya my son took his off and did the infamous poop all over the place! Does she remove her pant too...if she is just wearing a gown maybe put pants or shorts on over the diaper....oh the joys!
