How to stop my son from screaming.

I have a 7 month old son who screams ALL THE TIME. He screams when he's happy, tired, playing, hungry, sad, hurt, dirty, when he sees the cat, when he sees his sister, when I leave, when I come back, at his dad and even with a spoon and a heap of food in his mouth. It is so loud and high pitched it hurts my ears and it's all day long. I am seriously considering buying some ear plugs. Anyone have any ideas as to how I could put a stop to this?

Thanks Karli. I googled spirited babies and that doesn't sound like him at all. He is a very lay back little boy. Totally content to sit on the floor and take in his surroundings. I've ever had an issue with him ( except for the screaming). I'm starting to believe he is just copying his sister. Shes at the 'I'm right, your wrong, I want everything' stage of 2 and constantly throwing tantrums around him.

It's a baby's way of communicating, you can't stop it because he does not have words to tell you. Is it a painful scream, or sad or hurt or hungry, tired, angry, frustrated? He could just be very sensitive baby and gets overwhelmed by his surroundings. Google spirited babies, and see if he fits the moulds.
