I'm doing an online Medical Transcription program through Career Step. Yes it's time consuming to get through the program, but you work at your own pace anytime during the day or night. I've just recently started the program & probably won't be done until December.
Once you graduate from the program, Career Step guides you in the direction of different companies that hire people to work from home. :)

There is very little homework available, most of it is assembling small parts and the pay is awful. I worked from home when my sons were small packing balloons. Now 15 years later I have problems with arthritus in my hands from repetative strain. The pay was lousy and now I am really paying for it.
The only thing I can think of is catologue distribution things like Avon and Betterware, where you drop a small catologue through the door and go back two days later to see if they want anything. Again this is a lot of work for very little reward.
If you want to work from home because of childcare problems there is really nothing out there. The only other thing you could do is work an evening shift at a supermarket or bar and have your partner look after the baby. Just remember baby wont be a baby for long and as they get older opportunities will come up for you.
