I suggest setting one goal for yourself each day...maybe it's Monday get the laundry done. ANd that's it. Once it's done you'll feel like you've accomplished something. There's way to much to do and us mom's get overwhelmed. Make a schedule for yourself, this helped me immensely! And most of all...don't beat yourself up...it's tough work being a mom!

I plan to do something like... go shopping or visit a friend. Since it's something fun I make it a rule that I have to tidy the house before I leave and I always do because I want to come home and not have to do housework.

Thanks again ladies! I am not one to resort to meds. I know my hormones are still out of wack cause BF does that. lol I was tested for thyroid right before i got pregnant with my daughter. My son starts school next week so this week i am starting our school routine so having to wake up early and get stuff done lol Hope you ladies take care and stay stress free as well. !-)

Watching HGTV for home ideas and def. watching Hoarders motivates me to clean house...lol I lack the M word and notice it can be a domino effect on the rest of the family. Mommies are what holds up the fort. :)

I would also go to the doc and get a full blood panel done that checks your hormone levels and thyroid function. I was feeling the same way. I thought it was just the life of a mom with a 2 year old, but it turned out to be hypothyroidism that was making me so exhausted. It doesn't hurt to check.

Karen is right, setting just one goal is very helpful and not so overwhelming.
But the reason I asked about the baby was because I suspected you had PPD. I had it too. With both of my girls. It's awful and no fun. I would talk to your doctor and tell him/her how you've been feeling.

well I have to say all mothers must feel like this, but there are times when it is more than just 'tired'. I felt like this for a long long time and finally spoke with my family doctor that put me on a SSRI pill at a low dose and I can adjust as needed. I increase when I am expecting a more stressful day, etc. I haven't completely had the 'non-stop' motivation I would like to have, but I am less stressed and less angry and tired, so it is helping but still in beginning stages. The thing is more women are on them than you think -- as my nurse told me both her DIL are on stronger meds than I got -- so talk to your doc, because it may be depression or it may be your serotonin is out of balance. GOOD LUCK and don't feel bad or compare yourself to other moms. You just never really know what is going on in one's home or mind. Just focus on yourself

I was exhausted when i had my 2nd baby, always tired, yawning, no energy, so i got my tyroid checked, and wham my thyroid count was very low, i have to take 1 tablet a day and its changed everything around completely, Might be worth looking into, its nothing major and you'll have to do is get your bloods checked, its crazy the amount of women and men that have it

I have the same problem. When my son sleeps, I either nap too or just sit on the couch and watch tv and relax. I have found that taking vitamins helps (I am just horrible at remembering to take them!) I want to be a more tidy person it's just not me to be that way. My house is sort of an organized clutter if you will. I definitely like some of the other advice about tidying up before you leave for a play date or something. Have you tried making lists? Depending on my day, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Usually something else will spark my interest that I like doing more than housework :) hopefully this helps. You are definitely not alone with these feelings and I'm glad to know that neither am I.

I had my daughter 8 months ago. While I was pregnant I had GD so I stayed active the entire time so once I didn't have to be on the go I didn't. I do breastfeed andI know a lot of energy goes into that.
Thanks ladies! Glad to know I an not the only one. I will try and set up some play dates.

Did you just have a baby by chance? Or do you have a young child?

you need to talk to a professional you are depressed.....being a SAHM is hard. Go to the mall, any indoor place that will help the kids so they dont go stir crazy! I get depressed often and I just have to find ways to get out of the funk....I have found that the main time that I am depressed is the pms weeks, but I found out I have severe pmdd and the emotions and depression is due to that. I haven't gotten them yet but I have heard their are great meds for it...we'll see..Good luck..deff talk to your doc though!

i feel the same way, usually the kids or hubby push me to do something then it lifts some. So I am able to get things done or out of the house.

I'm the same way. I only do what I HAVE to do. I'm hoping that when it cools off, I'll get more energy.

I feel the same way when I don't get enough sleep or set aside some 'me time'.
Also, what you might want to do, is set up some play dates, that way it's like you have to make it or you're canceling on someone & it'll get you out of the house & hopefully give you that little push you need to get through the day. :)
Hope that works!

I haven't been terribly motivated myself lately. I've been making detailed lists of what has to be done and putting things like going to the zoo or the pool in my calendar. Then for some reason I feel like I have to do it. Once I'm out and about it usually helps get me motivated to do stuff.
