Give her a special moment. Activity... eg. Take her to the Children's Museum. (never too young) buy an indoor tent, (ours came from IKEA in the children's section) and hold story time with her. Our one year old LOVES it in there! I particularly like that option because you're taking away a special time that she used to have, and giving her another one - just more stage-appropriate!

well i know shes kinda young but maybe you can start something like a charm bracelet and when shes old enough you can give it to her and tell her witch each charms means and why you bought it and why you started it.

Hi Amanda,
First of all.. I'm proud of you too. This is a big step. I recently just started putting my 11 month old daughter in her crib as well. I was very proud of both her and myself. I'm not sure if she's too young for a Build-A-Bear. We just took my 2 1/2 year old son to build his own Build-A-Bear because he finally got rid of his binky. It really helped him sleep comfortably in his own room. You can also try http://www.personalcreations.com
They have a lot of cute things you can personalize.

Hope this helps a bit.

Crystal- that's such a cute idea.
Amanda- When I was a kid I remember making forts out of blankets all over the living room and dinning room, just hang blankets across tabels, chairs, and couchs. It's fun, creative and brings out imagination. You can turn your entire house into a “enchanting forest” or “secret Island.” Just a few ideas... have fun.
