i wish making friends was as easy as when we were kids but it would look awful strange going and asking someone if they would like to come skip with you. lol I watch my kids and all it takes is another child riding by on their bike or playing in their yard and within ten minutes they are playing and have made a new friend.. it be easier if you would be able to walk up to the next mom walking down the street and say hi my name is tiffany would you like to come for a coffee..whats would you think if a grown woman did that? Weirdo! Im up in Whitehorse,Yukon with 3 children and Im a stay at home mom so it gets to be very difficult making new friends expecially ones that have kids the people I am friends with are without children and husbands so living that single life obviously i cant relate.. lol

Katherine,

Thank you so much for the websites. I have tried meetup.com, but they all meet much earlier than my child even gets up, so that wasn't helpful for me, but I will try momsclub.org too! This is a great resource.

I understand your pain.. Im a SAHM as well and trying to get to know people around my area too. My kids dont go to school yet so they dont have any friends so I figured it would be a good thing to sign up for something like that. I like it so far I'm meeting up with some moms next month for a mommys day out and the women seem really nice!

Thanks! I'm weighing out my options. I want my little ones to have fun but i want to meet some lile minded moms to socialize with as well. Plus I don't want to be a SAHM forever

Christyanna, meetup is maybe$12 a year depending what play group you choose. Momsclub is the same or even free I believe.

For MOPS it depends...

For MOPS international membership, there is a cost, but not all groups make you get that, and often groups have some sort of scholarship for those who need it. Our group pays half of that fee for everyone, so for the past year it was less than $15 for the year- and you do get something for your money- some goodies in the mail and a regular MomSense magazine with parenting tips and ideas- it's not just money in MOPS pocket.

Individual groups may also charge some fee. Our group asks for $3 a meeting to cover some costs- like creative activities supplies, special events, gifts for speakers, or refreshments. But a lot of groups also have some option if you can't afford meetings- they want you there to benefit as a mom more than they want your money.

Just threw this out in another conversation also, but MOPS (Mothers of Pre-schoolers) may be a good place to find some connections, too. You can put in your zip code at their site to find local groups. The main site is www.mops.org the zip code look up page is http://www1.mops.org/web/web_group_searc...

I thought I was the only mom feeling like I was going insane with only little ones in the house to talk to. I so miss adult conversations.

Oops, put in moms group, instead of moms club. Sorry for the confusion!

Just realized that brought up a different website, but that one might work too. They have group chapters.

They have groups there too Rebecca. And it's a weight off of you, because while they play you can converse.

I live in Sydney Australia western suburbs id love

Other moms to interact with.. Coz sometimes I have

No one to talk to leaving me feeling alone..

Especially since now I'm dealing with a 4 yr old

Who makes meal times extremely stressful as

He takes forever to eat and doesn't like to eat

Very difficult times
