Morning sickness is a very common part of pregnancy and honestly it is a good sign. I had very bad morning sickness for all of my pregnancy and I wish someone would have told me it was something to be greatful for. It means your body is producing the correct hormones and don't worry you and your baby will be fine. Of course dehydrations is a concern and always ask your doctor if you have any worries or questions. Congrat's on being another mom to be blessed with morning sickness:)

Poor you, I was just like that with my first. I vomited all day everyday for 4 months before it got better, but I just ate very lightly and bland foods. Found fizzy water quite soothing on my tummy after being sick, but that might be just me?! I remember going to the doctor crying saying my baby wouldn't grow because I couldn't keep any food down. I lost a stone the first 2 months. He said that it's only me that felt rubbish wouln't hurt the baby. And he was right she was healthy as an ox! I hope you feel better soon, it will pass and it will be so worth it believe me! Good luck

I was the same way I stayed sick for 7 of the 9mts and it was an all day thing the most important thing my doc told me to do is make sure I drink alot so the baby would keep fluid around him...I was losing to much fluids and they wanted to take my baby when I was 5 mths and I said no so I did my best to keep him healthy...I could not hold any food down and lost 20 pounds. I also found out that the prenatal pills I was talking did not help and made me sick too so my doc let me take children vitamins and that help alot. Talk to your doc he/she may beable to help. My son was born healthy (2 weeks b4 due date) and he was 4lbs 9oz.

I have 2 girls 9 and 3, with my first daughter I was sick all 9 months All the time. With my 2nd The doctor told me to buy motion sickness bands ( they have them at walgreens called sea bands) It was the only thing that worked... It is not a drug you take, they are bands that go on your wrist, they keeps you from getting sick. I thought it was crazy at first but it worked! I'v told friends and it worked for them 2 (takes about a day~Keep them on all the time, Don't take them off! only to shower) Good luck to you!

Like she said, ginger anyithing, candies, snaps, teas, also try the sea band they sell it at almost all drugstores, no medicine just a pressure point band that helps tons. good luck.

Kelly, I was deathly sick preggo. Ginger is a tremendous help. They make a hard candy that you can suck on--and also try to eat protein--like almonds--alone if you can. You can also take Ginger supplements. If you have a health food store, I would recommend going there for some advice as well. Hope that helps!

Morning sickness should not hurt your baby the only thing is to make sure you are drinking lots of fluids, water is best. dehydration is the leading cause of miscarriage. it can also cause false labor pains or even full on labor to start early. if i were you i would watch what i eat because throwing up daily can hurt your teeth. if you are loosing weight mention it to your doctor, if they are too concerned don't worry youself about it. also eating many small meals and saltines work wonders. good luck! :)

Continue to bring it up to your doctor. If your doc is not worried, and you're not getting dehydrated- then PREGGIE POPS! It's all natural lollipops, made with essential oils to help with nausea. I had one in my mouth constantly for the first three months!

Hang in there!

it shouldn't hurt the baby as long as you can stay hydtrated- dehydration can cause contractions. I was on zofran but since it's expensive the insurance only allowed so many every few days. I had one that mdae me sleepy so I took that at home and the zofran when I had to go somewhere. A friend had the hypermesis and she was on a zofran pump. Hard candy seems to help a little. Motherhood and Babies R US had preggie pops and the hard candy. It has ginger. The crackers before you get out of bed can help, and try the wrist bands that have the pressure points (they are used for sailing and are sold at boating supply stores.) Also, my doctor prescribed flat coke. Poor the soda and stir it with a metal spoon. You are allowed 2 soda's a day so the caffeine won't hurt the baby. Good luck!

It is very normal to get sick, but if it's all day long you certainly are chancing dehydration. When I was pregnant with my first I was so sick they talked about checking me in to the hospital to pump me with fluids, instead they gave me some medition for it. I took it twice and never got sick again. You should talk to your ob about getting something to help you stop throwing up!

I have four kids and I got sick the whole time with the first three and barely gained any weight because of it, my doctors gave me hell about not gaining enough weight, with my fourth child my doctor gave me this pill at about 4 months prego called Odanstron and it helped me so much! I was able to eat and put on a healthy weight and the fourth was bigger than the first three, nice and healthy 7.7 lbs!

There is a product out there called Natal B and you can get it at your local pharmacy without a prescription. It is a high dose of vitamin B (its a cherry flavored lollipop) that settles morning sickness down. I was sick up until 28 weeks, so I know all too well how miserable it can be. Make sure that you are drinking plenty of fluids and take your prenatal, even if it makes you sick. There are anti-nausea medicines that can be perscribed, but usually not until you are well into your 2nd trimester. Try taking your vitamin right before bed. Hang in there!

My husbands cousin apparently was having that problem and it got to the point that she had to go to Urgent Care and they have her a constant drip of medication that keeps her from throwing up. If you haven't spoken to your doctor I would. It can lead to dehydration for you and the baby.

My doctor told me the reason I got sick was because my stomach got empty. I ate many mini meals during the day instead of 3 bigger ones, and that did the trick. When I got desperate, I drank ginger ale and/or took ginger tablets. Good prenatal vitamins are key!

try taking your prenatal pill at night before going to bed. I found by doing this, i wasn't sick and eliminated the throwing up.

I was the same way with my pregnancy, got dehydrated quite a few times and had to be put on I.V.'s My doctor finally had to perscribe a naseau med that would not hurt the baby, cant remember the name of it now but I had to take it the whole pregnancy, I was sick the first week of pregnancy (didnt know I was pregnant, was supposed to be infertile), until the very day of my little ones birth.
Just remember ALWAYS DRINK PLENTY OF WATER!
Good Luck & congrats!

throwing up all the time can be dangerous for you and the baby if you don't seem help. I had hypermesis and lost 25lbs in 4 days due to it. I could not eat or drink anyting and had ot be hooked up to IV over a 5 month period due to dehydration. They tried to perscribe me meds but it was a waste of money and came back up fast...i manged to flush over $100 worth of pulls in a few days... Anywho, if it is very sever and you are losing weight ask your Dr at you next prenatal visit or make another appointment today if you can to get in and talk about your sickness. Hepermesis is sever and can put your baby at risk IF it is left untreated for too long. If you are just sick in the morning or night and you can eat or drink then you will be fine. some sickness is normal and my Dr told me the sicker you are the healthier the baby lol...think she just wanted to make me feel better lol. Look up Hypemesis and if your symptoms are like it says then get in ot your Dr for some help. With my first i was really sick wth my second iw as not...first wasa boy second was a girl. With the first i literally ate nothing for 4 months and slowly started in to food after that and by the end i gained all the weight i had lost plus 25 extra so i was fine. With my daughter i lost 5lbs in the first few month due to lite morning sickness which omg i loved lol, comapired to what i had it was lovely! I could only eat nachos and salsa with her for the firts few months also, but i didn't mind lol. I gained a total of 25lbs with her. With both kids i lost all the weight in 4-5 days with the help of breastbeeding. My son,who i was sick with weighed 7lbs 11ozs and my daughter was 6lbs 9ozs. Throwing up is normal to an extent remember so don't get scared.

I just want 2 say when i went up 2 the emergency cause i was getting dehidrated sp? they sed i had the same thing (hyperemesis gravadarim sp?) when i asked them what that meant they told me it is a fancy word for a lot of puking while pregnant.

I had this same thing when i was pregnant with my second one and they prescribed Zofran after everything else failed! It worked great, I took one pill every 6 hours and it was the best thing that could have happened to me! It can hurt ur baby if it continues, i lost so much weight b 4 they put me on this and was hospitalized a few times! My son only wieghed 6lbs 14oz(some may think that is a normal weight) however my other 2 chilren from b 4 and after this pregnancy were 2 and 3 lbs bigger! I would continue to express ur concern to ur doctor! Good luck!

Some people say morning sickness is worse if you are afraid of becoming a mother, and that it helps to tell yourself you're looking forward to it and that you are going to be a great mom. And make sure you get enough water to drink.

You are okay! My obgyn told me to eat ginger crackers. Apparently ginger was used by sailors to cure motion sickness. I always kept them at my desk and ate them all the time. It seemed to help.

It is not hurting the baby. You have to be carefull that you dont end up dehydrated. When I was suffering from the all day sickness I was told by the midwife that the baby is like a parasite, it will take all the nutrician it needs to stay healthy so all you need to do is worry about yourself. She had such a way with words bless her

Don't worry. I lost 8 pounds in my first trimester with my first baby and with my second who is due in a few weeks, I lost 13 pounds in my first trimester. My first was born 3 weeks early at 7 pounds 3 ounces and my second is growing very well. Make sure you are taking your prenatals every day and eat what you can. If it's really bothering you and you don't want to be uncomfortable anymore, you can ask your doctor for this stuff that makes it go away. I never took it but my doctor offered it with both my pregnancies and it's for pregnant women so it's safe.

No morning sickness should not hurt your baby. The only problem I could see is with nutrition and dehydration. If you are taking prenatal vitamins your baby should be getting the basic nutrition it needs anyway but choosing foods high in nutrition is good idea at any point in your pregnancy. There are tricks to getting your food down like eating before you get out of bed, eating small meals and lot of snacks instead of big meals, taking notes to avoid anything that may trigger nausea and of course lots of water. If it is causing pain you should speak with your doctor immediately. If necessary you may be put on an antinausea medicine.
