is anyone elses baby being sick all the time after solid feeds

my baby has always been a sickie baby and got told he will just grow out of it. he now stops being sick on milk feed but ow is sick on soilds. he is 8 months and has 3 jars a day at different times some i bigger than others and he still brings it back up throughout the day. we have just been giving gaviscon since me going on at one at the octor because im just at my wits end now. gaviscon thickens up milk but its the soilds his bringing up. we have also been told to give him less. i dont want to give him any more less as he wont be hardly having any food during the day. we got him weighed 2 wks ago and he was 15.5lbs at 7months 3 weeks, going again next week as worried about his weight. doctors and health vistors are meant to help you but im just getting the same old answers. please has anyone else had this problem

My daughter had the same problem she was born at 34 weeks and after many test they found her stomach doesn't empty as fast as it should! They gave her medicine called reglan and she had a horrible reaction to it lost all control and couldn't stop twitching. Took her to the hospital and stopped the meds ASAP. She is 1 now and has pretty much grown out of it.

1 of my sons threw up everything as well, he had reflux so we put it down to that but it turned out he has egg, nut and soy allergys. Maybe you could look into allergy tests.

My daughter had acid reflux and she was eating 5oz every three hours and when she would eat she would spit up half of everything she ate and she was almost 8 months old. The doctor told me to give her ranitidine twice a day, it's a prescription. Now she eats 3 meals and two snacks a day and never spits up and she's stopped loosing weight. Ask your doctor if that's what he has, if the doctor says there is nothing wrong then you should get a second opinion.

have you tried smaller more frequent feedings? Also, keep a food journal for him and keep track of what comes back. He may very well have an allergy that you will discover if you go back to one food at each feeding.

It could be reflux and medication can help. If things don't get better, you might want to see if there is a blockage. They stick all sorts of stuff in their mouths. Also, he may just have a really weak muscle at the top of his stomach. Only time and keeping him upright following eating is going to help with that.

My daughter spit up a lot of her food too. The dr. gave me a prescription for Zantac in liquid form for infants who have reflux. It worked very well! Also, my son spit up a lot, too. It turned out that he had food allergies. Ask your dr. to do a blood test for food allergies... Good luck to you!

My son was a reflux baby, bought up everything he had... Finally after tearing my hair out from his constant vomiting, someone had suggested Karricare food thickener... It certainly stopped my son from vomiting... It could be worth looking into? I certainly recommend it, best investment I had made!
