My son Dominic is almost 11 mnths now. He shows not much intrest in trying to crawl, he just started sitting up. He loves to sleep the day away. And pretty much just sitting around. My daughter Harley took her first steps at 10 mnths, crawled the month before that. I know they say not to compare your children but how do you not?

every child does stuff at different age but i dont believe that boys are a little slower then girls my son started sitting by hisself at 5 months an crawling at 6 months an my little cousin didnt start crawling till 9 months an she is a cgirl its hard not to compare im sure everyone does it he just might be a baby that isnt going to crawl he might just go right into walking

Every child is different. I have heard that boys do develep a bit slower than girls. My son didn't start crawling until he was about 10 months and walking around 14 months. My daughter who is 11 months now has been crawling for a while. He'll start crawling and walking when he's ready.

It is normal to compare children. Yes, boys do develop slower than girls. But just remember one thing, milestones have NOTHING to do with IQ!!! So the fact that Dominic isn't doing any of that stuff doesn't mean that Harley is cleverer than him. My little boy sat at 3 1/2 months and crawled at 8 and 10 days, but only clapped hands at 9 months. So each child is different. Just love him and encourage him to do what he needs to do. :-)

My son started crawling at 9 months and walked on his first birthday. A friend of mine had a little girl within a month of my son and she took longer to start crawling, but walked at like 11 months. My son is now 2 and loves to learn new things. We have flash cards for him for colors, shapes, etc. he loves them. As for physically and mentally, every child will be different. Some kids don't crawl at all and go straight to walking. Some don't talk much and when they do it's complete sentences. If you're concerned then you can call your pediatrician. Otherwise, spend time with your son. Encourage him to crawl or to walk. Hold him up, make him move lol. There's no harm in trying. Hang in there, I'm sure he's just taking his time and enjoying being a baby :) Good Luck!!

my son always seems to be physically developing faster than the girls his age. but the little girls always seem to be mentally developed more than my son... like his little girl friend (born a week before him) says a bunch of words and stuff but she didnt walk until after 1 year old but my son started walking at 10 months and just started talking at 11 months but still is no where near as many words as lexi is! i think a lot of it is just every baby is different... as long as you and your dr are pleased with your sons progress and development i say dont worry about it! it will come in time!

from what i have heard they do .. i my self have 2 little girls and we find ourselves comparing what the youngest does to when the oldest did ..
