Is your house clean or cluttered?

My hubby suggested we downsize on dishes too. I'm definitely going to do that. Considering I'm the only one doing them. I'm looking forward to purging once hubby is feeling better. Right now he's getting over a virus and has been told by the Dr to not do as much, he needs to rest more than anything. He's been sick off and on since March.

We just went on a minimalizing spree. Made a chart, with all our goals on it for that month and almost all of it got done! In one month, our house went from unruly and unmanagable to functioning. We're now working this month (making a new chart with a list of goals) to get the rest of it in order. Small things now :D and that is sooooo nice to think about. Soon, we'll simply be working on a routine where it will be easy to clean.

I downsized dishes, so I don't have to do as many now. Same with clothes, less laundry. This has saved my soul and our relationship, not joking lol

I recommend purging to anyone who is overwhelmed by house work. I'm surprised how much junk we collect in our life times, or even 1 year!

totally cluttered, but we are working on that. We are actually going to rent a big garbage bin, and toss a lot of crap out of this house. I'm so tired of the clutter.

I would say my house is clean.

There usually is no clutter, but I also have a habit of over obsessing over things that need cleaning.
I'm sure if I thought about it, and made some lists there are more things that could be more organized...like the shed or something.. refold the clothes that are bunched in the drawers, ect.

I love having an organized house.
A place for everything and everything in its place!

For the most part, I would say my house is clean. I don't consider toys on the floor clutter because it is natural to have toys around when you have kids and they are probably the easiest thing to clean up.

I absolutely think there is someything wrong with a SAHM having a housekeeper. absolutely. you dont go to work as a mechanic and hire someone else to come work on the cars for you, rght? its ridculous and a waste of money. I do everything at night and have all the time in the world to spend with my daughter. There is no excuse for it. I am good for plenty of other things.. but honestly.. what the heck am I doing as a SAHM mom if I cant clean up my own house?

My home is a disaster! Two pack rats got married and moved into a house with an attic. Bad news. When we had our first daughter, I started wanting to get rid of stuff, but my husband couldn't handle it. Then we moved to a smaller house and our daughter turned out to be a worse pack rat than daddy. Even worse. :) Our second daughter turned out to have a severe dust mite allergy, so I put my foot down about decluttering. About halfway through the process, we got a big stack of legal paperwork telling us we might need to move sometime between 10 days and 6 months from then. 6 weeks later, we are in a bigger house, but there are boxes piled to the ceiling. I'm the only person who's allowed to open the boxes because I'm the only person who'll get rid of stuff. At the rate of one full trashcan on the curb and one large box to Goodwill every week, I'm hoping the house will be livable within the year. Of course with my husband graduating next month and where jobs seem to be, we may be moving again this fall.

I don't think there is anything wrong with a sahm having a housekeeper. I had one up until my son started school. It gave me more time to spend with him then, and now that he's in school, I have time to do it myself.

I like to think I'm good for something more than just cleaning house!

Morning clean, mid morning a bomb, afternoon (kids are sleeping) clean, late afternoon bomb, evening clean. Moral of the story, clean without the kids, a bomb with them in it lol

I live in california, my house is clean and I DO NOT have a house cleaner. I am not going to pay someone money to do what i can do myself. I clean after my little one goes to bed. And pick up constantly throughout the day. hire a cleaner! ha! I am a stay at home mom, if I cant clean my own house then what am I good for?

I was a MESSY child and teen... as I have gotten older and even over the last couple years that has totally changed. I TRY really hard to keep my house clean but I REALLY feel like I would never ever stop cleaning! I am a stay at home mom, and I swear my house gets un-naturally messy each day. I will go through everything and organize, and within days it is a disaster again. I am totally lost!... So my house is cluttered but I try so hard to be CLEAN!!!

Depends on what room you are in. The basement is umm...organized chaos at the moment. We have all the baby stuff stored down there waiting for this next one to arrive and we are in the process of trying to figure out what to do with all the stuff that's currently in the room that will be my daughter's room when baby moves in to the nursery. We are in desperate need of more toy storage but can't seem to find the right stuff. Upstairs is generally looking pretty good though.

Probably a garage sale will be in order soon. I'm sure there's useless stuff mixed in with the useful downstairs. I get rid of stuff all the time, but I'm pretty sure the pile of stuff is procreating.

I am actually doing that right now. My house is a mad house right now. As you could imagine with 5 children 10yr and under, one with autisum and 1 with possible aspergers. I have already started trying to organize and just went through all the clothes that don't fit our kids anymore and am now sorting through toys. I am actually going to take the toys that are not complete sets anymore and donate them to a daycare and all the multiple kids meal toys we have collected over the years I am going to donate to my kids school for the teachers treasure boxes. Toys I have complete sets of are going to the yard sale. Some of my kids clothes have a few stains, very mild and would be great for play clothes. So at the yard sale I'm going to have a seperate table for them so that if someone purchases clothes they can pick out a couple of the stained clothes for free. I know you asked about clean or cluttered buy I thought I would share my yard sale ideas since you mentioned you were going to have one too.

My house is unfortunately fairly cluttered at the moment. Since my 3 kids are 3 and under and my husband is messy and happy to be so (even happier to not help at all) it's a little bit like fighting a tidal wave. I am hoping to get everything clean and organized some day. For right now I have to settle for mostly clean but cluttered.

My house is clean and organized--it has to be because it is TINY and I have severe ADD so I cannot have clutter.
We have a Hot Spot (table & hooks) by the garage door to sort and drop stuff we bring into the house, and I take about 5 minutes in the evening to go through it all and put it in the proper places. I don't buy ANYTHING without figuring out where to put it first.

My house is cluttered. UGH. But I'm slowly working through everything and reorganizing! It's a nice change. Dejunking will making it easier for me to keep control of it all.
