bacon cheeseburger pasta, homemade chicken nuggets, asparagus, spagetti, lasagna, stuffed shells, bbq anything, honey mustard chicken, burritos, tacos, chicken salad, breakfast for supper...pretty much anything goes in my house!

Well today I'm going to be making some Pumpkin soup with homemade crusty garlic bread.

I boil the pumpkin with onions until soft. Drain of water and let to cool. Put it in the blender with a packet of french onion soup and salt and papper to taste.

When I'm ready to heat it up to serve I stir through some cream to thicken it up.

Talking of potato salad, my Grandmother passed me the yummiest one :-)

I cube potatos and boil.
Cut up a few rashers of bacon and fry with an onion.
When the potatos have cooled a bit mix with the bacon and onoin and add half colslaw dressing and half mayonaise and sprinkle chives over the top.

It's yummy both warm and cold.

In summer it's whatever I can do on the BBQ, unless it's windy or rainy, then I do a pasta supper.
BBQ steak, baked potatoes, corn on cob
BBQ pork chops, cubed potatoes & carrots in a loaf pan with butter and seasoning done on BBQ
BBQ kebobs, potatoe salad (or baby potatoes)

Winter I do a lot of Soup/Stew type meals in the crockpot.

Carribbean Pepper Pot Soup

Also boil chicken carcasses or beef bones and make soup

Hamburger soup

Lazy lasagne made in crock pot.

Spaghetti sauce done in Crock pot.

Of course I also do some oven cooking as well.
Because I make sandwiches all year round, I save the roasts and hams for this and roast them as I need them and then slice for sandwich meat.

That sounds yummy Jennifer. We are in winter here so I'm sure the slow cooker will be getting a workout soon. I am planning on making a pumpkin soup for dinner tomorrow with crusty homemade garlic bread.

Summer we do a lot of BBQ's with salad because it gets so hot no one really wants to eat much.

For us, summer is all about what is quick and simple, since we spend most of our days outside playing or at the park. A favorite dish is to take potatoes, clean and cube, then boil til almost done. Then add in green beans (I can my own out of my mom's garden), and cut up smoked sausage or ham. Finish boiling all together til meat is hot, and potatoes are done. Drain, and enjoy! It only takes one big pot to cook, so not many dishes. It's also nice, because there is no certain amount of each item that is needed so it is easy to make more or less depending on how hungry everyone is.
