Moms, what is the chore that you absolutely dread the most?

Laundry, & unfortuanetly, I do it everyday (there are 5 of us!) I just hate the fact that not only do I have to wash & dry it, but then I have to fold it & put it away. It takes at least 5 hours everyday, & it gets pretty tiring!

i havent read all the replies but it just blows my mind how so many people hate doing laundry! not only on here, but IRL and other message boards im on! laundry is my absolutely favorite chore! LoL

now the one thing i just hate with a passion is dusting! its the easiest most quickest chore in the house, but i HATE HATE HATE to dust!!

I LOATHE laundry..I have never seen so much laundry....ever! I have two girls who think they need to change clothes every five mins I swear. I'd rather do dishes or cook whatever, but not laundry

I used to let them sit in the sink until the end of the day, but they get so crusty and hard to wash and with a family of 5 they pile up so much that now I find it's easier to wash them after each meal, only takes like 10 mins! I just hate having my hands in the hot water, scrubbing away, especially in the summer!
I don't like folding and putting away clothes either, but I'd rather do that than dishes! Haha

I have OCD so its a list but the worst thing is cleaning the boys bathroom no matter how many times I go in it always looks like its never touched I will never understand boys and bathrooms

Wow I found this interesting, I never minded folding laundry really because I can do it while watching TV, gives me an excuse to sit down and not feel guilty for watching my soap! However I would be so rich if I could invent a robot that would fold and put away laundry!

I have to add I also hate doing my floors, we have not any carpet(hard wood) so I see every speck of dirt, dust etc. So I have to vacuum it at least once a day and damp mop or it looks nasty. I leave the upstairs until I see dust bunnies sometimes. I just hate lugging our vacuum cleaner up two flights of stairs to vacuum 5 rooms! Also we got one of those roll on the floor types with a hose and a little door that holds the attachments. The little door got broke and is always falling off. My husband duc taped it and well if I want to use the attachments I have to unstuck the tape...and the little door is all sticky now from tape and re tapeing it! Then to mop it all ugh.... and just when I finish of course someone comes in with dirty shoes and forgets to take them off or my daughter spills something on it!

Ugh my least favorite chore is doing the laundry. I really can't stand it when my husband thinks he's helping and put clothes in the wash before he goes to work and says put them in the dryer. I might have plans to leave the house that morning. When I do laundy I have to fold them soon as they come out the dryer so this delays my time to leave the house. I know he is being helpful,but it annoys me.lol

I hate cleaning my daughters room!!!! She takes all of her clothes out of her drawers, takes all of her teddy bears off the shelves, and empties her toybox on the floor... I hate even walking into her room. The last two times she has done this her aunt has helped her clean her room because I just could not deal with it... I try to get her to clean it all up herself, but she just sits in her room and stares at the floor...

i agree with you Jenn Rawlines, i will literally clean the house top to bottom before even looking at the dishes, my husband hates that i leave them so long or leave them for him to do but i just cant stand it, i think its because i grew up with just my brothers and my father and well they were messy pigs and i had 2 sinks full every day to wash!! try convincing everyone every day to rinse their dishes after eating so it saves you some scrubbing time! xoxo goodluck! :)

Folding/putting laundry away, because as quickly as they are folded and put away, they are thrown out of drawers, and tossed throughout the house by my two year old! YAY! not. Mopping sucks because I too have tile, and the vaccum just doesn't cut it.

my worst would have to b cooking cant stand it... i actually dont mind doing my dishes as long as my kitchen is clean the rest just doesnt seem so bad... i also have putting clothes away esp when i fold my childrens clothes n then they go through there draws n pull them all out

Total toss up between laundry and dishes. I have a dishwasher but the kids always put their plates in the sink full of food on the side without the diswasher....and laundry just sucks....

Growing up my sister and I were to take turns cleaning our bathroom but she always had so much homework that I ended up doing the bathroom on her days too so to this day that is the chore I hate the most. Usually what I do is pour bleach in the toilet let it sit for a few minutes then I'll take the toilet brush and run it up under the rim and clean there really good and call it good.

Big thanks to everyone who posted!! I never guessed i would get so many answers, I guess we all have a universal hatred of housework:P Laundry is close second to me after dishes...The main reason i hate dishes is because no one ever rinses them so the food is like caked on and have to be soaked and scrubbed like crazy...And the drain gets full of food, uck!! Laundry for me is like most of you said: I don't mind the washing and drying, it is the folding and putting away...Usually the laundry basket of clean clothes gets set in my room and we all pick out of it to get dressed lol..I also do not have a dresser right now because a flood ruined my bedroom set (and everything else in my house) so i have replaced most stuff but for some reason my and the hubby are the only one who still don't have a dresser..It makes it hard to distinguish clean clothes from dirty..I usually do the sniff test and if they don't smell bad then i will wear it haha...I know its sad! I am telling everyone in my family that for Christmas, mothers day and my birthday i want everyone to pitch in and hire me a cleaning service like molly maid:) I also cant stand cleaning the bathroom because my four year old son isn't very accurate with the toilet (neither is my hubby for that matter!) and all my makeup and stuff is on the counter which y 18 mth old always breaks and throws around, so there is a constant layer of crap on the counter..AND on top of that, my hubby tried cleaning the drain out with a coat hanger (u know where u make a hook at the end and feed it into it) because he refused to pay five bucks for drain cleaner when he could do it for free...yeah he blew a frigging hole right in the pipe, and all this nasty water went everywhere, so NOW there is a bucket under my drain to catch all the nasty water, which i am forced to empty daily because people keep forgetting not to use the sink ughhh. The repair man can only come next week!!!! So in order to save five bucks i now have to pay like 75$ to fix it...Men are smart like that:)

So basically i hate pretty much anything that involves scrubbing, soaking, washing, dusting, mopping, disinfecting, or wiping:)

We have so much laundry when the boys are back home from uni and it sucks but when they have gone it's down to 2 or poss 3 load a week.......... wow. Still hate folding and putting away but hate clothes lying around they have to be put AWAY!!!

Floors - hands down. I don't have a big house, but it is 1800 sq. ft. on one level, so that's a lot of floor space. Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping = backbreaking & time consuming!! And with two little kids and two puppies, they are filthy again within 5 minutes. HATE cleaning the floors!!

I have to say that folding laundry is by far the chore I hate the most, idk if its because my daughter unfolds them as i am folding them and when I finally get them all folded and put away I wake up the next day to them all over the floor! Its a NEVER ending process in our house! not to mention the line of work my husband is in makes him so dirty that he comes home gets outta his work clothes takes a shower and put on new clothes! so that double for him! and to top it off we can't just have 1 thing of laundry detergent we have 3! I'm allergic to the ingredients in his he is allergic to mine and then we use Dreft for my daughters. we have thought about just switching completely to dreft but it doesnt seem to get all the dirt outta my husbands clothes! its just crazy!
