Steamy shower like many have mentioned, works wonders......vicks baby rub & a vicks vaporizer in the baby's room work great as well.
Good luck! It's tough when little ones are sick.

If your son has a runny nose then you can use baby dimetapp but if its coming from teh chest then dont use dimetapp..its very hard for kids to cough up the mucas and spit it out...this will sound disgusting but as a mum that wants my child to be able to breath and "unclogg is runny nose, i would actually suck the snot out of his nose...my parents did it for us when we were babies...
anyway theres a naural hompathic med u can buy called "viburcol" which helps with colds and flu syptoms, restlessness, and teething...fantastic stuff and it can be used on babies as young as one day old!

Steaming the bathroom for about 20 minutes helped my son a lot at that age.

Have you tried a vaporizer with Vick's in it?
There's now a night-light version with disposable pads with Vick's on them. They've worked great for my daughter when she has had a cold, because the room is then medicated air.

Nasonex or generic Flonase are nasal steroids and they work great for congestion....it's indicated for congestion and also for anyone 6 months and older are available by prescription only. Yes, it is a steroid, but not what you may think about steroids - it's a nasal inhaled steroid and has less than 1% systemic absorption into the body. Also, use a bulb syringe to suck out any mucus in the nose a few times a day or it can lead to an ear infection. Best wishes!

Like Abby said, try the shower. I turn our shower and sink on full blast on hot, and plug the tub, so it will keep steaming even after we run out of hot water. I've used that with my son twice now, and it always seems to make him more comfortable. I hope your little one, gets better soon.

put karvol drops at the end of the bed, and put a wet towel on the radiator(if on)
altho there is one thing my god father swears by, turn the shower on so it makes the bathroom REALLY steamy and then play in the bathroom, it's like a sauna. should clear them up nicely x
