My 2 month old has gotten thrush. I have med for it. My question is any ideas on how to soothe her other than her swing?

You can do alot of different things to take her mind off of the pain or if you're wanting to soothe her. Holding her in general will help her feel like mommy cares, theres nothing more to it. You can give her a bath.. that does wonders as well. You have you have any teething toys, put them in the fridge for 20 minutes and then let her swish that around in her mouth or bite on it. Cold, clean rags are wonderful as well. Someone else mentioned a bouncy chair, those are good soothers and maybe even laying her on the bed and slightly bouncing it around her. My son loved that. there is links to gentin violet and cancer, I would talk to your doc about Diflucan. I dont know its name in the US. Also what really helped me was a PROBIOTIC. from a health food store. The Diflucan is given both to mom and baby, and can be very expensive, but will work!

My little girl had it when she was 2months old also and she is 2 now. I used that same meds and it worked on her just fine. I also used the bouncy chair that vibrates and that soothed her also. I was also told by a registered nurse to put a tbsp of plain yogurt in her milk and that would soothe her also. I did and it worked. What the yogurt does it puts the yeast back and it also calms the stomache due to colic. Just thought I would give you some suggestions that might help. Hope everything works out for you and her.

nothing to do with meds soz but my daughter has been a bit poorly lately(only teething and a bad cold) and havin trouble settling i run my hand down her face over and over,did you ever watch face off with john travolta and nic cage just how john does it to his son.works wonders for some unknown reason.

well if that medicine doesnt work. There is a natural med you can get at the pharmacy called gentian violet. When you use it it looks like your baby ate a pen but it cleared it right up and we didnt have the problem again.

I just found it yesterday, called the dr. They call in an order for Nystatin. When my 2 year old got thrush I used the same thing and it worked. Samantha has had 3 doses since yesterday afternoon. She has just been really fussy, Sarah wasn't like that. Thank you so much. My oldest was the only one who didn't have this. Sarah's case cleared up in just a few days. I'm hoping that Samanth's does to.

my son had thrush from 2 weeks to 3 months. the medicine wasn't killing it so i got a stronger one, but i found that a vibrating bouncy chair worked wonders with him. how long as your baby been on the meds? what meds is your baby on?
