Have you looked into if it is allergy related? My kids, especially my son has a milk and soy allergy and that caused 90% of his problems. He did better on Nutramigen as well as Neocate Jr. With my daughters we used the purple can by Nestle and it helped a lot. He also had actual reflux so he is on Prevacid as well.

My first daughter had reflux really bad. We used Enfamil Gentlease for a while and then I found Nestle Good Start Natural Culturals. I put her on that and the reflux went away and she never caught another cold. I am using it with my second daughter and she never had any problems with gas, reflux, or spitting up.

I wanted to mention that we found out from our doctor that soy formulas are being studied heavily right now because there may be a hormonal impact on children. He warned us about it without coming right out and saying it. My husband even had to stop drinking soy milk because he was having weird signs of estrogen...and no man needs that right..LOL? Point of the story, soy contains estrogen that our bodies can misuse.

My baby had the same thing. The doctor put her on Soy formula. He told us to put a tsp of rice ceral in her bottle it helps with the refux. Once we started doing that she acted like a whole new baby.

Quoting Donna:
My son had horrible colic and reflux. We tried soy and some spit up formula and nothing worked. We finlly used Nutramigen. He was like a totally diffrent baby. I belive its made by Enfamil in an orange can. The only down fall is that it is expensive, but it works.
Same for us, it was worth paying more for Nutramagen because it made all of the difference in the world! We also added a little organic brown rice cereal to the formula.

Our baby had the same problem and thank goodness for Nutramagin! It saved us! It worked really well and our daughter is very healthy. It made a complete change in our daughter after 3-4 bottles, she went from being constantly miserable to being a happy baby.

I found that soy milk like isolmil worked great and they have special bottles out there with a vent on the bottom of them it was a life saver cause my daughter had really bad colic every night and kept spitting up and i went formula afetr formula and finally the doctor said rty a soy product it is a little more expensive but wrks great and the bottles make it so the bubbles do not go near the babies mouth and prevents them from gettig a belly ache

My daughter was 2 months premature and had the same issues as yours! They had her on a premixed formula I think it was emfamil and we added rice cereal to it to make it thicker! They also gave her persxription liquid zantac. But that was almost 12 years ago they might have better solutions for it now!

I recomend talking with your dr. changing the baby's formula can be tricky. the change can cause some more stomach or gastro issues on top of the original problem. my son had issues like this and turned out to have some gastrointestional disease. so talk to your dr before doing anything

my son had reflux but it wasnt really bad his doctor put him on baby zantac and i put him on karicare HA-AR formular i also proped his mattress up so his upper body was raised when sleeping. you can also try putting rice cerial in the bottle so its thicker and sits in babys stomach more and not come up. its really hard but try to stay calm and relaxed so baby doesnt get stressed out too!

My son now 2 had this when he was a baby My suggestion is to take your baby to the doctor dont try treating this on your own. Be very persistant, very questionable and be listening and watching your child w/everything. My son at 1 month old while I was feeding him starting having the reflux to the point of not breathing, doc told us allergic to his formula we went through every kind of formula nothing made it better then one night while feeding him I looked down and he was refluxing again this time to the point of no breathing too much old milk that never went down was coming up as well as new milk my husband came running and my son went lifeless turned blue and purple on us. I called 911 while my husband was holding my son face to floor and trying to beat his back to get it out and to get him breathing. Nothing worked. Finally paramedics got there and administered CPR ended up in Lebonar Hospital for almost a month before finding out its not allergies, his stomach wasnt opening up fast enough into the intestines actually 3 times slower than normal child. So plz dont take it in your own hands PLZ SEEK A PROFESSIONALS HELP we almost waited too long w/ the wrong doctor. Dont make the same mistake

My son and daughter where not able to hold down anything. It suggested to me to try the Similac Sensitive in the ready to feed liquid form. For some reason the ready to feed has a different mix then the powder and seemed to be gentler on their stomach's. IT worked like a charm. It was a bit more expensive than buying the powder but far less expensive than buying specialty formulas like nutramigen.

Similac Alimentum is what they suggested I use for my daughter but very expensive. Later we switched to Similac Soy and she did well on that. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Brown's bottles. My daughter was on medication for over a year for GER and saw two specialists regularly, so I suggest you take your child to a doctor. It took a pediatric ENT specialist to figure out my daughter had GER.

My little guy had that same problem so we switched him to Similac Soy and that seemed to work for him. You might have to try a few to see what works for your little one. You can also try giving her gripe water. I found that to help too.

My baby has reflux and the doctor put him on Enfamil AR. It thickens in their stomach so it helps them keep it down better. He also takes liquid zantac. It has really helped him and he's able to keep the formula down now. Might be worth a try to get a can and see how she does with it. Hope you figure out what works for your little girl.

My son has reflux and when he was a baby the doctors made me put a table spoon of rice cereal in every bottle. It was called thickening feeds. They said that it helps hold down the milk. You might want to ask your doctor about it. My sons reflux was so bad that it was burning his vocal cords. He also takes prevacid every day and zantac. I really hope this is helpful to you. Good luck!

My daughter had the worst gas and reflux. We tried EVERYTHING we could for 3 months. There isn't one formula or holistic remedy we didn't try. The only thing that finally worked was switching to Similac Alimentum formula and the doctor prescribed her baby Zantac. Within 2 days she was a totally different baby. She only needed to be on the Zantac for about 2 months. Call your pediatrician.

My son had the same problem and i used 2 things to help him.... #1 I added a little scratch with the formula, this makes it thicker which makes it stay in. and #2 i used herb called ANISE SEEDS, boil water and after it starts to boil i would add the Anise seeds and turn off the stove and just let it set for about an hour, the drain it and you can use it with the formula instead of the pain water or you can just have the baby drink it. This will help with the fussiness. its like magic.the Anise seeds are usually found in the spice section.my mom is 73 years old and she gave me these 2 tricks....they really worked for me and i hope they work for you.

Having read the other comments - PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE - TAKE HER TO THE DOCTOR FIRST!!! - before you do anything else or make any changes! There are so many things that can cause these symptoms and it is not something you can afford to mess around with or just take uninformed advice for. CALL HER DOCTOR - BE INSISTANT - BE HER ADVOCATE - AND DON'T GIVE UP TILL YOU HAVE A DEFINITIVE ANSWER AND A WORKABLE SOLUTION!!!

Don't attempt to treat this yourself - take her to the doctor. Reflux in a baby can cause permanent damage before you realize just how bad it is. Your doctor can tell you the best plan of action for your baby's specific needs.

Both my DD and my DS had these issues. We used Sensitive for DD and Soy for DS, but that didn't really make much difference. We also tried the Mylicon and while they worked with DD occasionally, I found them to be pretty much a waste of money most of the time. We tried Gripe water (herbal water - we used the little tummys brand) with my DS and I now SWEAR BY IT! It got us through those first few weeks (apparently for both of my children the real problem was an underdeveloped digestive system since they were each born 2 1/2 weeks early). We recently used it on my DS again at the age of 8 months (daddy fed him scrambled eggs) and it still worked like a charm. I have had several friends try the gripe water and all had success. My DS was a different/happier child in a matter of minutes from his first dose of it! It is truly worth every penny (about $10 a bottle which usually lasted us around a week in the early months)

I know this might sound silly but my little boy had all the same problems when he was born colic and GERD they put him on Zantac and we tried all the different formulas did it all nothing honestly seemed to help but time...then...here it comes...we moved and switched Pediatricians and I asked for the medical records and read them...come to find out the doctor actually put down we were feeding him too much BUT NEVER BOTHERED TO TELL US!!!! We were new parents and because he was crying all the time just thought he was hungry so if nothing else works watch how much you feed her because it may be that she has a tummy ache because she is being over fed. She may not be, but it's something to consider and would have been great for us to know at the time! Good luck!

"Carnation GoodStart" the gentle plus kind with the orange label. My son as a baby had the acid reflux and become fussy cause of the acid reflux and once i put him on the carnation it sure went down a bunch and it seemed the flare up were less and less and by the time he was 1 years old the reflux was gone....

a soy based formula is usually good try lavendar baby soap or playing a cd with lullabys sometimes to quiet is frightning to a lil one and with a lullabye cd it also blocks out some other noises that may go on in your home that might startle the baby hopefully it helps and sometimes letting them cry is ok it breaks your heart but builds there lungs and lets them know everytime they cry they do not have to be held they are smarter than people think

I use Emfamil (The purple container) for Fussiness and gas... I've noticed that while feeing my baby that if I keep her upright for at least 15-20 min after she eats and dont put her down after she burps then she seems to keep her food down. Savannah (my baby girl) also has acid reflux....ever since we switched to that formula her spit up has been so much less and makes it easier for her to burp after.

Enfamil worked for my 2 boys who both had reflux. My oldest had it the worst, was hospitalized 3x. He was EXTREMELY colicky. I used to lay him over my lap with his belly pressed against my lap & I would rock him. That seemed to really sooth him. Remember to talk to the doctor before switching her formula. Also, try classical music, sometimes that was the only thing that would calm him down, we had to have it on repeat. If the music stopped, he would start bawling! I pray that your little one starts to feel better soon.

Hi Jettanna, my little girl suffered from colic and GERD. Colic-just another name for gas, Nutramigen made her way worse. I can honestly say after days in the hospital from her reflux and vomiting to much, it's just something you have to wait out and try as hard as you can to treat the symptoms. Its very painful for babies and Sky ended up on zantac (liquid). It made a world of difference but we still fed her smaller amounts more often, never fed her laying down, used a warm belly wrap and she also slept at an angle.
As far as formula, we tried all the expensive kind & some from Doctors, it was amazing that the one which made a huge difference was "Carnation GoodStart" the gentle plus kind with the orange label. It has all the same vitamins and is easy on their bellies. It's up to you but we always got the RTF kind as the powder (even after waiting to feed) still has foaming bubbles in it. Hope this helps. Sky got better around 12 months old

My son had the same thing when he was younger. We used Nutramigen by Enfamil (a hypoallergenic formula)... it's expensive but it was the only thing that worked for him wehn he was younger. When he was 7 months old we switched to ProSobee by Enfamil (it's a soy based formula) and he's been on that ever since and has outgrown his acid reflux and gas!!

1. lay baby on flat surface
2. straighten legs all the way out
3. then hold at the ankles and push legs into the stomach so that the knees are bent
4. do this repeatedly for a couple of minutes
this helped for my son he passed gas everytime
good luck

I recommend putting some rice ceral in the formula for a gassy and fussy baby. My two youngest had the acid reflux bad and after doing that they didn't even have to have the meds for it. It worked wonders and they were not as fussy and started sleeping almost all night after about a week or two. My next to youngest came home with it in her bottles two days after she was born and I started my youngest on it after we got home from the hospital when he was born. The gas is something that you have to just handle. I used the infant gas drops for mine when they got like that. My oldest had colic.

Dear Jettanna, my son, Mayson also had this problem and if you try Similac Sensitive it works GREAT! I also started using the Dr. Brown GLASS bottles. they are like 12 for 2 of them at Babies R Us and the way they are designed works wonders for colic! Glass is highly recommended because it helps to stop colic also! but yes Similac Sensitive is amazing formula for a gassy baby with acid reflex! Hope you try it and find that it works for your baby girl!!!
